A celebration of creativity on stage 🎭

Our talented AQ Drama students recently took to the stage for the Drama Fest Showcase 2026, presenting two outstanding productions that celebrated storytelling, creativity and collaboration.

Our Year 7 & 8 Drama Ensemble captivated audiences with Compass, while our Year 9 & 10 Ensemble impressed with Please Remain Calm, It's Probably Nothing, an original work written and directed by Aquinas teacher Kate Paraskevos.

These performances were made possible through the dedication of our students, directors, backstage crew and staff, whose passion and teamwork brought each production to life. We are especially proud of our Year 7 and 8 students for embracing the stage with confidence and enthusiasm.

An exciting first step towards high school 📚

Recently, we were delighted to welcome Year 4 students from St Francis Xavier for a Year 4 Experience Day.

From Drama, Hospitality, HPE and Science to a BBQ lunch shared together, students embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity and plenty of smiles.

It was a joy to see them explore high school life, build new connections and experience our welcoming College community.

We look forward to welcoming many of them back as future Year 7 students.

What an incredible start to the term! Our dancers took to the stage at HOTA for the Starbound Dance Competition, showcasing their skill, passion and dedication.

A glimpse into the Aquinas experience ✨

Recently, we welcomed 40 families to our third Principal's Tour for the year, giving them the opportunity to experience firsthand what makes our community so special.

From our youngest visitor, just 8 weeks old, to our inspiring Year 12 Leadership Ambassadors leading their final tour, it was a wonderful day of connection, conversation and looking towards the future.

A special thank you to our Year 12 student leaders for proudly sharing their Aquinas journey, and to all the families who joined us.

AQ crowned South Queensland champions 🏉

Congratulations to our Touch Football teams on an outstanding South Queensland Regional All Schools Championships!

Our 18 Mixed team were crowned South Queensland Champions, completing an undefeated campaign and claiming the title after three consecutive years as runners-up. An incredible achievement!

Our 15 Girls team also had a fantastic tournament, finishing second in their pool before their finals campaign was unfortunately cut short due to field closures.

Beyond the results, our students represented the College with pride, integrity and care for one another throughout the carnival.

Congratulations to all our players and thank you to our dedicated staff for their commitment and support.

Catholic Education Week 2026

This week, we proudly reflected on the official launch of Catholic Education Week 2026, celebrated at a special Mass on Tuesday, 28 July, led by the Archbishop of Brisbane, The Most Reverend Shane Mackinlay.

Representing Aquinas College, Mr Richardson joined our College Captains, Tabitha and Riley, as they gathered with student leaders, teachers and representatives from all 313 Queensland Catholic schools to mark this significant occasion.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the shared mission of Catholic education, recognising the strength of our community and our commitment to faith, learning and service.

Year 11 Rite to Leadership Retreat & Dinner ✨

A special evening of reflection and celebration as our Year 11 students, together with their parents and caregivers, marked an important milestone in their journey towards becoming the Senior Leaders of Aquinas College in 2027.

Beginning with a meaningful liturgy on the shores of Tallebudgera Beach, students were invited to reflect on their journey so far and the values that will guide them as future leaders.

Families then gathered at the Surf Club to share a meal, enjoy some trivia and celebrate this significant occasion. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Senior Tie to each student, symbolising their transition into Year 12 and the leadership responsibility they will embrace in 2027.

We look forward to seeing our Year 11 students continue to grow as leaders and embrace their role in 2027, upholding the values of faith, courage, compassion and belonging that are at the heart of AQ.
