From seeing science in action to exploring new environments, the children were engaged, excited and eager to learn. It was fantastic to see their little faces light up as they discovered something new! π‘π§
A huge thank you to the wonderful team at Mater Dei for welcoming us and helping make our excursion such a special experience. π

β¨π Squish, roll, squeeze & CREATE! πβ¨
Our little learners have been busy getting their hands into some play-dough fun!
From rolling and squishing to poking, cutting, and creating, play-dough is more than just fun, itβs a wonderful way to build fine motor skills, hand strength, creativity, imagination, and concentration π
And of course... there were plenty of proud little smiles along the way! π
Because sometimes the best learning happens when little hands are simply busy creating! π¨π

On Tuesday evening, our Team had a staff meeting.
We talked about how every team member brings something special and how we all have superpowers.
As an extension, each Educator wrote down their superpower, the superpower they use to help their team, and why they are proud to use it π¦ΈββοΈπ
We then had a professional development session with Kids β€οΈ Pilates, learning about how movement is the message and what it tells us about sensory systems and regulation, starting with what we SEE - not a label.
We are looking forward to another session in the upcoming weeks!

Our Toddlers have recently been learning about following simple instructions π
Over the past couple of weeks, they were given the opportunity to take part in an activity where they could use a dropper to add blue colouring to fluffy foam, where listening skills and instructions needed to be followed π
Watching, in delight as the foam magically transformed before their eyes, they grabbed construction trucks and diggers to scoop, push, and mix the foam together, enjoying imaginative play with their peers π

π¦Ίπͺ Construction with our Toddlers and Pre-Kindergartens! πͺπ¦Ί
Our Over 2βs have recently been exploring the theme construction.
Using shovels, buckets, trucks, and diggers, our little learners scooped, poured, dug, and transported sand as they explored alongside their peers.
During this recent activity, many meaningful conversations took place, and friendships and social skills were built.

π¦ποΈ Little Hands, Big Discoveries! ποΈπ¦
This week, our Tiny Tots have been exploring sustainability through posting balls through holes in a big box, peeking inside, and reaching in to retrieve them!
They went on to repeat this again and again, lots of curiosity and problem-solving all at once! π±

What do you notice about the bubbles as they move through the water? π«§
This question was posed to the Junior Kindergarten earlier this week as they investigated how bubbles are created and move through water.
They closely watched the bubbles rise, gather, and pop while sharing their observations with Educators and peers.
A wonderful and fun way to explore STEM through a meaningful outdoor learning experience!

ππ’ Ocean Life visits Ashgrove π’ π
Today we had a very exciting incursion at Ashgrove, featuring an interactive touch-and-learn session introducing our learners to a range of interesting marine creatures.
An enthusiastic, qualified marine educator arrived with fascinating live marine animals, artifacts, games, and activities; blending βhands onβ interaction with a touch of science and a lot of humour, to make learning about the ocean fun!
Thank you for a great time, Ocean Life. We canβt wait to have you back! π¦ π
