📚 Ready, Set… READ!
The Ashfield Public School Readathon is here!
Students were sent home with their Readathon forms on Friday, so check those school bags if you haven’t seen yours yet!
This is our first-ever Readathon, raising money for a much-needed upgrade of our school library — and we’d love the whole school community to get behind it.
📖 How does it work?
Students are encouraged to read as much as they can during the Readathon and record their reading on the form sent home.
And there are lots of ways to read!
Novels, picture books, graphic novels, non-fiction, audiobooks and eBooks all count. Students can read independently, read with someone else, be read to, or read in any language.
The idea is simple: get our kids reading while raising funds to make our school library even better.
💰 How can families help?
Students can ask family and friends to support their Readathon with a donation.
There is no minimum amount to raise, and fundraising is completely optional — every student can still take part in the reading challenge.
But there is a little friendly competition between classes…
🏆 Which class will take the top spot?
The class that raises the most money during the Readathon will win a $250 voucher from The Rose Read Bookshop to spend on books!
So send the fundraising details to grandparents, aunties, uncles, family friends and anyone else who might like to support your reader — every donation adds to your class total.
📚 What are we raising money for?
Every dollar raised will go towards the Ashfield Public School library upgrade, helping us create a more welcoming, engaging and inspiring space for our students to read, learn and discover.
So find those forms, choose some great books and get reading! 📚

What a night it was!
Thank you to everyone who attended our Winter Wonderland disco, we hope you had an incredible time!
A massive THANK YOU to everyone involved! A big thank you to Alicia and the rest of the event committee - Celeste, Jesse, Bianca, Paz, Susana, Ciara, Rina and Sam (also Angela who is an unofficial member!). A lot of hard work went in behind the scenes to organise the incredible show! It was our first ever winter wonderland and Alicia with the events team has set the blueprint for years to come!!
Another big thank you to very big list of volunteers who not only volunteered their time behind the event but also to be there organising the entry, cooking the BBQ, policing the dance floor, the hot chocolate and dessert stand, and the games!
This event was also special for many of the SRC kids who designed all the games that were being played! well done to the SRC kids who took part - they were busy ALL NIGHT!
The event was able to run with the help from having the kitchen access by Badayla, and having the grounds in order by Frank!
Lastly, we thank our event sponsor - that generously sponsored the event - and also helped out with the event itself!

Some more plants have been added to the garden!
They will look so beautiful when they mature - kids make sure you don't step on them!
Thanks to Mr Sergei for planting these!

A big thank you to Ray White and Success Tutoring Burwood, who supported APS P&C in 2025 with a generous donation to enhance our Kindy Courtyard.
Thanks to their contribution, the platypus, frog, balance log, blocks and shopfront have become fantastic new additions—bringing even more creativity and fun to playtime! 🌟
