📚Ahead of our Book Week celebrations, Sydney author Nathan Luff visited our campus to share his stories and love of writing.
Students heard about Nathan’s childhood growing up in rural NSW, the inspiration behind his books, what makes a good writer and how a book goes from an idea to publication.
After school, Nathan worked with our teachers through his ‘Making Writing Fun’ session, sharing new ways to engage students in writing, particularly creative writing.

🔬 Did you know it’s National Science Week? Check out what our Stage 5 scientists have been up to:
🧪Year 10 had some fun with ‘Elephant’s Toothpaste’, where hydrogen peroxide and potassium iodide were mixed together to produce a huge reaction, with some steam coming off as a result. Students loved seeing this fun way to visualise chemistry.
🎨Year 9 created paint from ochre, using the same natural material Indigenous Australians have used to make body paint for generations. They experimented with different binders to see whether egg yolk or oil worked best.

🌟📚 We’re proud of all they’ve accomplished in these 100 days and look forward to seeing all the wonderful things they’ll achieve in their bright futures!

🦁🦘 Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2 spent the day at Taronga Zoo
Our students came face to face with animals from around the world, listened to zookeepers and discovered how different species adapt to their environments. Everyone was on their best behaviour all day, even if there were a few tired legs on the bus ride home!
A big thank you to the teachers and staff who made the day possible.

🪫 Around the Classes | Our Year 11 Chemistry students have been exploring how electricity can be generated using chemical batteries, also known as galvanic cells.
By pairing different metals with metal salt solutions, students investigated how chemical reactions produce an electrical current, just like the principles behind a lead-acid car battery.
