Last Friday our Year 10 Practical Pathways students headed to Breamlea Beach for a community clean-up. With beautiful weather on their side, the students worked together to care for our local environment and make a positive contribution to the wider community.

We are proud to highlight the positive impact Oberon students are making beyond the classroom!

'The Falkons' played at the Come Together Battle of the Bands in Queenscliff on the weekend. They won second place, earning a spot to perform at the Tranquillity Fair in Ocean Grove in January.

This will be the second year in a row for Oberon bands, with Electric Stardust winning the same spot last year!

German Poetry success! 🇩🇪🎤

15 Oberon students from Years 7–9 competed in the Regional Final of the German Poetry Competition at the beautiful German Club in Norlane, with five students taking home medals!

A huge congratulations to all 15 students who represented Oberon and showcased their German language skills and confidence.

Senior Boys’ Soccer ⚽

While their classmates enjoyed a sleep-in, 16 Year 11 and 12 students were up early and ready to represent Oberon at the SSV Senior Boys’ Soccer competition.

After two tough 2–0 losses to North Geelong and Belmont, the boys bounced back with a 1–0 win over Northern Bay, with Braydon S finding the back of the net. 🔥

The final game against Western Heights went right down to the wire, with Ben H scoring Oberon’s goal in a hard-fought 2–1 result.

A great day of competition, teamwork and plenty of fight from the boys. 👏

A special shoutout to Lachie O, who ran the lines despite being unable to play through injury, and Lucas P, ex-Oberon student and current Geelong NPL player, for taking on the coaching duties.

Last Thursday Year 11 Oberon students attended the Geelong Careers Expo at the new Nyaal Banyul Conference Centre.

Students were able to meet with over 80 exhibitors, including TAFE, University, ADF, sports agencies and more. Hundreds of students got to explore their pathways thanks to GRLLEN for running this event.
