Little Bear Child Care Cottage is a small, not-for-profit long day care service with a caring and dedicated team of educators who provide a warm and nurturing environment for up to 25 children each day. Our service is like one big family, where children feel safe, valued, and supported to learn, grow, and develop meaningful relationships.

Key Word Sign is the use of signs and natural gestures to support the communication and language development of children and adults with communication difficulties. It can be used in all daily interactions and in songs, stories, and group times to support the language learning of all children.

About the Role
As a Trainee Educator, you will:

Work alongside experienced educators to support children’s learning and development
Assist in creating engaging and age-appropriate activities
Help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members
Complete a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or relevant qualification) while working

What We’re Looking For

Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliability and commitment to completing your traineeship
Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)

We are currently seeking a passionate trainee to join our team in 2025!

Key Responsibilities:

Commit to completing the theoretical component of an 18-month traineeship.
Be punctual, professional, reliable, and enthusiastic about children's education and care.
Demonstrate effective communication skills.
Be flexible with working rotating rosters, gaining exposure to various aspects of the childcare sector.
Collaborate effectively as a team member.
Understand and adhere to workplace health and safety standards.
Bring creativity, fun, and a genuine passion for early childhood education.

Essential Requirements:

You must be over 17 years of age and an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
You currently do not hold a Certificate III in Child Care.
You must be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check prior.
You must be willing to obtain a First Aid certificate.

Casual Educators Needed
Position: Casual Educator
Location: 86 Taylor Street Armidale NSW 2350
Term: Monday to Friday
Shifts: Predominantly 9 AM - 3 PM

About the Position:
We are seeking dedicated Casual Educators to join our team for Term 3. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, demonstrating a strong commitment to their well-being and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide a safe and engaging environment for children
• Implement age-appropriate programs and share children’s participation with families
• Assist with nappy changes and toileting
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and the community
• Actively supervise children during activities
• Maintain a structured, clean, and organized work environment

About You:
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential skills and experience:
• Certificate III, Diploma in Childhood Education and Care or working towards
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Approved first aid and child protection qualifications
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
