Toastmasters is a non-profit educational organisation that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of clubs. Our club meets on the first and third Mondays of each month 6:30pm for 6:45 start, at the Hughes House Jacaranda Room, 141 Faulkner Street, Armidale, New South Wales, Australia.

Four members of the club travelled to Dorrigo on Saturday for the Northern Division Contest. Hayden Koudela competed in the International Contest and Bob Kirchner took part in the Humorous Contest. Both acquitted themselves very well and demonstrated how using props can enhance a speech.

If you would like to learn how to speak confidently in front of an audience, please join us for our next meeting on Monday 16 February at the Armidale City Bowling Club from 6.45pm. Online attendance via Zoom is also available.

We had a brilliant Armidale Toastmasters meeting on Monday 3 November with the theme Melbourne Cup. It was fun, lively and full of learning. Congratulations to Toastmaster Lachlan Koudela for winning the big cup for Best Table Topic (Impromptu speech), and to Leanne Pleash and Hayden Koudela for taking home the small cups.

Our next meeting is tonight, Monday 17 November at 6.45 pm. Join us at the Armidale Bowling Club or online.

We had another fabulous meeting last Monday evening. The theme was curiosity.
Hayden introduced the word of the week, "brisk," encouraging members to use concise words.
Toastmaster Leanne Pleash led us in an imaginative warmup. Table Topics focused on Reading Preferences.
Cathy explained the Pathways educational program in Toastmasters, highlighting how members can track their progress, complete projects, and receive written evaluations.
Bob delivered a speech titled "The Times They Are Changing," highlighting the dramatic increase in media availability from six to 60,000 radio stations and discussing the future implications of technology like artificial intelligence and virtual reality.
This week's winners were:
* Best Table Topic (impromptu speech) - Hayden
* Best Speech - Bob
* Best evaluator - Leanne Kirchner
