👏🏻 A huge thank you to Charmaine West for her donation to St Ursula’s archives (at O'Connor Catholic College).
Young, Brave and Beautiful book is a historical biography by Tania Szabó (who went to St Ursula’s) about her mother, Violette Szabó Violette was a British-French spy for Britain's Special Operations during World War II. Violette went on two dangerous missions into German-occupied France in 1944. She helped run local resistance groups, set up supply drops, and stopped German troops near D-Day.Capture: N**i forces captured her after a gun fight on her final mission.She faced harsh torture, refused to name other agents, and was killed at Ravensbrück in 1945. She was Awarded the George Cross after her death and awarded the French Croix de Guerre. ✝️
