O'Connor Catholic College

Yesterday, we had the honour of welcoming Brother John Pill the very first Principal of O’Connor, back to the College.

During his visit, Brother John spent time with current Principal Mr Gibney, touring the grounds and seeing new developments and improvements that have occurred over the years. He also met with staff, spent time in classrooms, and spent time with Mr Kelly in Archives where he says he was truly blown away by the collection and preservation of our rich history.

It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our heritage, reflect on how far we have come, and share the exciting future of OCC.

🏇 Congratulations to the O'Connor Equestrian Team on their fantastic results at the North West Equestrian Expo!

Competing against 85 high schools and more than 500 horses, our riders achieved some outstanding results.

Amber was crowned 15 years Champion Stockman Challenge and 15 years champion sporting competitor
Sophia recieved 2nd in the Working Horse Challenge, 2nd & 4th in Team penning, 4th for time trials
Pippi who received 3rd in the stockman challenge
Charlotte on her wins of 2nd & 4th in team penning
Tori who recieved 1st, 3rd and 5th placings in multiple events.
Cleo who received 7th overall, plus 2nd, 3rd & 5th placings

A fantastic effort by all competitors. We are very proud of the team and their achievements!

⚡️ Yesterday, Mr Hawthorne took a group of students with interests in electrotechnology and engineering to the Essential Energy depot. Students learnt about operations at the depot and employment and traineeship opportunities.

Another successful STEP Day!

Yesterday year 6 students from a variety of primary schools joined us for our second STEP day. It was a successful day full of learning, fun, and a taste for high school education!

🎶 Congratulations to our Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 Music classes on their outstanding performances at today’s Eisteddfod in the class ensemble section!

A special mention goes to our Year 9 class for achieving an impressive 2nd place overall. Our Year 11 class also excelled, earning equal first in the years 11 and 12 section, while our Year 12 students secured a fantastic 3rd place.

An incredible effort from all students involved! 🎶
