Canberra Excursion - Day 2
Day 2 has been another action packed day for our Year 5 and 6 students in Canberra!
Our first stop was the Australian Institute of Sport, where students had the opportunity to experience a range of Olympic sports, both summer and winter. There were plenty of challenges, laughs and some very impressive sporting efforts!
We then travelled to Cockington Green Gardens, where students admired the incredible miniature displays from around the world. The attention to detail in each exhibition certainly made this a memorable visit.
At Parliament House, students stepped into the world of Australian democracy by participating in a playhouse version of the House of Representatives. Students took on important parliamentary roles, including Prime Minister, Speaker of the House, Sergeant-at-Arms and Clerk, giving them a fun and engaging insight into how our Federal Parliament operates.
After dinner, it was time to let loose and have some fun at the video arcade, where students enjoyed games, bowling and laser tag. There was certainly plenty of competition and plenty of laughter!
And, of course we have to mention the food - the students have been very well fed and the food has been fantastic!
It has been another wonderful day filled with learning, new experiences, teamwork and lots of fun. We're looking forward to what Day 3 has in store!

We were very lucky to have a group of students from ASC visit Sandon on Wednesday to deliver lessons to Early Stage 1 and Stage 1 students. The ASC students are all part of the Future Teachers Club. This is a club that provides opportunities for students to work with other like-minded students to deliver lessons and activities to younger students. Involvement in the club allows students to build confidence, organisational and leadership skills. This was a great initiative for both schools during Science Week. Thankyou Armidale Secondary College.

๐ Connecting with Bricks โ Day 2! ๐
Day two of Science Week was packed with excitement as students continued to explore, create, and discover with the Connecting with Bricks program. Our brick pit buzzed with energy and imagination as students tackled new science challenges, learned how forces shape landscapes, and explored the wonders of planet earth and animal homes.
Huge thanks again to Tania, Thai & Destiny for inspiring our students and bringing their brilliant brick pit to Sandon. The creativity and enthusiasm shown by everyone made Science Week unforgettable!
We are grateful to our P&C for supporting these fantastic opportunities for hands-on learning.
