📚✨ What’s happening at PVS this Book Week? ✨📚
Main Street was looking a little different yesterday… with students, staff and families arriving dressed as some of their favorite book characters for our Book Week Parade! 🎭📖
From classic characters to creative homemade costumes, there was plenty of colour, imagination and excitement around the school.

A great addition was on our Main Street for Reading on the Street, where families joined students to sit, read and enjoy books together. It was such a lovely sight-seeing our school community slow down, share stories and enjoy reading in the heart of the school grounds. 💙

Our Book Fair is also open throughout the week, with plenty of books to explore, activities to enjoy and raffle prizes up for grabs.
And there’s still more to come, with Book Week activities continuing before a special theatre incursion on Friday afternoon.

🍴 WOMBATS’ KITCHEN IS BACK! 👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳

Our year 5 & 6 Class are putting on another Wombats’ Kitchen in Weeks 5 & 6!

From planning the menu and designing their own brochures, to taking orders, preparing ingredients and cooking the food, students are involved in the whole process from start to finish.

It’s a fantastic hands-on learning experience, giving students the opportunity to build skills in planning, teamwork, communication, maths, organisation and food preparation — all while creating delicious lunches for our school community! 😋

We’re so excited to see our students take ownership and pride in this project and bring their very own kitchen to life! 💙

Yesterday, our Year 5/6 students took their classroom learning into the real world with a visit to Parliament House and Kings Park. 🏛️🌿

Spending the day learning about government, democracy and how laws are made in Western Australia, students had the opportunity to see Parliament firsthand and build on the concepts they have been exploring at school.

The visit was a great way to make their learning more meaningful and give students a practical understanding of how decisions are made in our state.

The day finished with time exploring beautiful Kings Park — a wonderful combination of learning, discovery and fun! 💙

What a great way to end week 3!

🤖📰 Front Page News for PVS Robotics!

We are incredibly proud to see Pioneer Village School’s regional VEX Robotics Tournament featured on the front page of the Armadale Examiner!

Held at the Armadale District Hall, the event brought together students from Pioneer Village School, Carey Baptist College and South Coast Baptist College for a day of creativity, coding, engineering, teamwork and problem-solving.

Led by Robotics Teacher and Program Coordinator Mr Guy Rowlingson, our students spent months designing, building, testing and refining their robots—often during lunch breaks and in their own time. Throughout the competition, they worked in alliances, solved challenges, repaired and reprogrammed their robots, and supported one another every step of the way.

A special thank you to the City of Armadale Community Grants Program, Murdoch University, participating schools, families, volunteers and staff who helped make this fantastic community event possible.
Congratulations to Mr Rowlingson and all our talented robotics students on this outstanding achievement. This is only the beginning! 🌟👏

Term 3 is officially underway at Pioneer Village School! It has been wonderful first week back welcoming our students for another exciting term.

📚✨ Our staff came together for Staff Development Day: a day of professional learning, collaboration, and planning as we prepare for a fantastic Term 3.

🌱🌼 Little Pioneers Gardening Project 🌼🌱
Our Little Pioneers have been busy getting their hands dirty as they begin their very own gardening project! Together, the children planted snow peas and a variety of beautiful flowers, learning about how plants grow and the importance of caring for our environment.

⚙️🤖 Term 3 Robotics is underway! Our robotics team got straight to work at their first practice of the term, collaborating, testing ideas and preparing for an exciting semester ahead. It's fantastic to see our students embracing innovation, their critical thinking skills and teamwork as they continue to develop their STEM skills.

❤️ 💛 🖤 NAIDOC Week: We proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week with meaningful learning experiences inspired by this year's theme, "50 Years Deadly."
A highlight of the week was the inspiring Djinda Kaatijin theatre performance by Yirra Yaakin Theatre Company, alongside classroom activities exploring Aboriginal art, stories and caring for Country.

What a wonderful way to begin Term 3 while celebrating the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
