Not every song at our IGNITE concert melted your face off. 🤘🖤

Our concert is packed with rock and heavy metal, but we love seeing the incredible mix of music our students bring to the stage from indie and pop to rock, jazz and blues.

This was Amari’s very first live performance, joining her teacher Grace Brady for a beautiful acoustic version of The Story by Cohan Gray.

It was such a heartfelt performance, and we think she did an amazing job.

Congratulations, Amari. Here’s to the first of many! ✨

All the Small Things 🎸

There’s something really special about watching students return to the IGNITE stage year after year. This was Thomas’s third concert with us, and seeing how much he’s grown in confidence is what it’s all about.

Thomas is 12 years old and in Year 7, performing All the Small Things by Blink 182 with his teacher Amado Guerra. He’s been playing guitar for 4½ years and is making such great progress.

He’s into nu metal, with Limp Bizkit as a favourite, and when he’s not playing guitar he’s usually out playing football or volleyball with his mates.

So proud of you, Thomas. Awesome job! 👏

Sophie understood the assignment. 🔥🎸

Three years ago, Sophie picked up the guitar.

Last weekend at IGNITE 2026, she walked on stage with her teacher Amado Guerra and absolutely ripped through Laid to Rest by Lamb of God.

We never get tired of seeing female guitarists own the stage, especially playing metal with this much confidence and power.🤘

Sophie is into indie rock and metal, with Racer on constant rotation, but when she’s not playing guitar you’ll find her painting, taking photos, playing sport, or hanging out with friends.

Fun fact: one of her photographs was recently selected for her school’s Art Showcase! 📸🎨

We’re so incredibly proud of the musician (and creative human) she’s becoming. What a performance, Sophie! 🤘🥳

This tune is extremely complicated. Lots of strange and interesting timing changes and about 1 billion notes! 🎶😆

I think these guys are playing more notes than anyone in the concert😆😬

My hand is cramping just thinking about tackling this 6 minute tune😣

This video was from a few weeks ago, and if you can believe it, they have got even better since. Can’t wait to see them live on Sunday. 🥳🤘

Meet Ashley! 🎸

Ashley is a passionate and versatile musician who teaches guitar with a focus on confidence, creativity, and enjoying music. She plays guitar, ukulele, bass, piano, trombone, and also sings, giving her a strong all-round musical background.

She specialises in indie and soft rock, and enjoys helping students build solid foundations while exploring their own style. Ashley works with all ages and skill levels, tailoring lessons to suit each student.

Currently studying Set Design at WAAPA, she brings a creative and performance-focused perspective to her teaching, along with a relaxed and supportive approach that helps students feel comfortable and inspired.
