How exciting to have a chat with Simon Marnie on ABC radio Sydney yesterday and talk bees and tree hollows! KCN also proudly mixed it up with loads of scientists, enviro ed experts and lots of Science Trail punters for a great day out. Thanks RGBS for hosting, and I am looking forward to providing a bunch of workshops for schools, in the Gardens, across the week.

Looking forward to a week of science!
KCN was excited to be part of the launch of Science week this morn at RBGS! Join us for more fun tomorrow at the Science Fair in the Gardens, as we kick off a week of mind- expanding, uber cool science activities!You can make a hotel for insects and check out some super-sized bee models! The Super Pollinators Bees 4 Pre's workshop is a hit with preschoolers! Thanks to all the centres that hosted The Super Pollinators Bees 4 Pre's workshop this term - our first term ever! With loads of fun, hands-on, bee related activities, we engaged loads of young bee enthusiasts to become the bee guardians of the future! The children enjoyed learning about pollination by transferring pollen between our giant flowers, checking out inverts under magnification, discovering the body parts of bees via our super-sized (but friendly!) bee models, shopping in Buzzy Bees fruit and veggie shop, and doing puzzles and games to develop bee awareness of our 2000 or so native bee species. Of course we made bee hotels using a hammer and clever dowel locking system and we left some hotels with the centres to keep - ready for guests! Bookings are open for Term 2 - but we suggest you get in early to secure a spot. Don't forget we have the Super Pollinators program for primary school as well - now in its 7th year - or book a visit at the Royal Botanic Gardens to do a Plan Bee workshop.
