Each fortnight we have pastoral time, which is an opportunity for students and staff to participate in culture building activities. Yesterday's pastoral session was coordinated by our Year 12 Student Leaders, who organised games and fun activities in House groups. Well done to our senior students who led with enthusiasm and to students across all year levels for your positive participation, fostering a sense of community and connectedness.

Congratulations to Year 12 student Khloe Wilson, who was recently named in the BFLW under 19 Youth Girls Team of the Year! It's a wonderful recognition of Khloe's hard work and commitment on the field.
The growth in AFLW at grassroots level is exciting and we hope many more young women will be inspired by the expanding pathways available in sport.

Congratulations to Savannah and Mackenzie Farrell who recently returned from a very successful international Taekwondo tournament in China. The Australian National Taekwondo team achieved amazing results - Savannah won a silver medal in patterns and a bronze medal in sparring. Mackenzie won a gold medal in sparring and a silver medal in patterns! What an incredible achievement against strong international competition. The girls have now cemented their place in the National Team and are already training for the Victorian Open Championships next month and National Championships in October. Well done Savannah and Mackenzie, your dedication and discipline is inspiring!

In Humanities, Year 7 students have recently been studying Ancient Egyptian society, focusing on art, culture, and daily life. The study culminated in an assessment task where students could choose from a number of different activities, including reports, sculptures, and even games! This was an opportunity for many of our Year 7s to show off their creativity in a brief but wonderfully curated Ancient Egyptian exhibition!

Last night, Sienna represented the students who participated in the Ballarat Science and Engineering Challenge by presenting feedback to the Ararat Rotary Club. Members of the Rotary Club donate their own time, and the organisation donates money, to ensure the program succeeds every year. Sienna did a fantastic job at describing her involvement in the challenge and how much she enjoyed the activities. Well done Sienna and thank you to Mr Naus for your guidance and support of our students in all things SCIENCE!

On Tuesday, our College Captains and Ms Cameron attended the RSL memorial service at the Ararat Cenotaph, commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan, Vietnam. A small crowd gathered to hear speeches from RSL President Scott Rigby; Member for Ripon, Martha Haylett; and a moving recollection from a local Veteran of his experiences at Long Tan. As always, our leaders represented Marian College with pride, dignity, and respect.
