This week, our team at All Aboard Inclusion had the privilege of participating in the inaugural Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund Bush Summit in Coonamble, NSW.

The Eleanor Bryant Memorial Fund was established to honour Eleanor Bryant, a highly skilled and deeply compassionate speech therapist who grew up in Coonamble and spent her career driven by one belief: that families in rural and remote Australia deserve the same access to quality therapy and early childhood support as families in our cities. The fund carries her legacy forward through scholarships supporting locals to pursue careers in allied health and early childhood, building expertise from within the communities that need it most.

The Bush Summit was Australia's first event of its kind, bringing Sydney-based specialists together with local therapists, educators and families for two days of professional learning, collaboration and direct community engagement. It was far more than a conference. It was a genuine coming together of people who care deeply about closing the gap for children with additional needs and their families in regional Australia.

We were proud to present a workshop titled Building Safety, Connection and Engagement: Creating Student Snapshots for Inclusive and Compassionate Practice. This workshop facilitated collaboration of all participant: educators, parents and allied health discussing student profiles and how to best understand the conditions that support our students to be happy relaxed and engaged.

Our team also worked directly at Coonamble Preschool, providing hands on support to the local community. That combination of building practitioner capacity and showing up directly for children and families is exactly the kind of model regional communities deserve.

We hope that initiates like this spark future funding to provide on going access to services to families in rural NSW and beyond.

Our team is excited to head to the first Bush Summit with our team. This is a cause very important to us so seemed right for four of our team to head toward Coonamble for this. We are excited to present and consult at the local preschool. Bringing services and supports to rural regions is so needed. We are grateful for the opportunity! We are ready to provide practice strategies that can be implemented straight away and create student profiles that support advocacy and inclusion

Inclusion starts with conversation.

And it grows through collaboration.

Educators and therapists came together to unpack what inclusion means, what’s working, and the barriers we need to address. Those insights are now guiding our planning for 2026.
