Hi there!
Following my big announcement earlier this week, I want to let you know about upcoming garage sales at my place. I've got so much stuff to sell!!!
So, this Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th, and next Sat 20th and Sun 21st, please come and help me re-home it all πŸ™‚
The sales will start at 10am and finish at 3pm, but if there's stuff you know your little one would love, then let me know beforehand and I can put it aside for you. Items include a B*K 350 bike, a high chair, a pram, a Little Tikes car and just heaps of books, toys, DVDs and clothes.
After you've been to mine, then also head down to the Johnson's at 84 Trafalgar Street as they're having a sale too!

Hello JoJos friends and family,
It is with great sadness, and also a little excitement, that I write this post.
A few weeks ago I was given notice on my house here, which I have lived in and run the business from for nearly 15 years!!!
I have loved and looked after your children, and have made so many friends, and it certainly feels very nostalgic, and a bit strange letting you know that JoJos will close in December.
Sigh......
The plan forward is an exciting one though, and once I get over the mammoth and emotional task I have ahead, I am looking forward to the next phase.
JoJos will operate until 31st Dec. So, if anyone needs care up until then, over that Xmas period, then please let me know, as I am in fact already getting filled up. Particularly in that week before Xmas when school breaks up, and there is no vacation care available at APS.
Then, in Jan, I will move out, and Toby and I will live in a rental near the school, and I will be doing casual nannying up until April 2022. At which point we will say goodbye to Annandale and all you lovely people, and head to the UK for a much needed holiday!! I cant wait!
When we return, we will head to Helensburgh, and I will restart the business there.
Thank you for all your support over the years, it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you and your kids. I cant really express how much all of this means, but hopefully our friendships will last, and we will stay in touch, so that I can see your children grow.
Much love
JoJo x

For my birthday this year I decided I would like to give back a little and help to teach the children some more about saving the beautiful animals and nature on our planet and in particular in Australia.
So, I decided to organise a fundraiser to adopt a Koala. My vacation care kids baked Koala cupcakes and cookies, made Koala bracelets and hama beads, designed posters and then stood out in the rain to spruik our goodies 😍
We ended up raising $168.50!!! Not bad for a rainy lockdown bake sale! It was enough to adopt not one but 2 Koalas! My kids chose Lion Leo, a rare blue eyed Koala that is actually back out in the wild now and also Wauchope Jade, whom if the kids ever visit Port Macquarie can visit at Koala Hospital Port Macquarie
Let's hope our efforts can go a little to help stop this beautiful creature from becoming extinct 🐨

I hope you are keeping well in these challenging times and if you have been home-schooling, then all I can say is 'woop woop' you made it through the whole of term 3 in one piece! Hurrah!
A rare situation has arisen where I have multiple children leaving in one go. From the beginning of term 4 I potentially have 7 spots coming up at JoJos! They are on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays.
Some of these I know I can fill, but not all.
I frequently get asked if I can accommodate siblings or friends on the same day, and this is a rare opportunity where I can say 'yes'!!
So.......Ive been thinking who these spots would be ideal for.........
Do you have a pre-schooler that is anxious about returning to care when the time comes?
Are you feeling anxious that your pre-schooler is going to be going from no recent care to a 5 day week in February?
Do you feel like when preschool eventually returns, that your 2 or 3 day week may not be enough and you'd like an extra day or two?
Would you like for your child to be able to mix with other kids that are transitioning to school or preschool in 2022 in a small (and therefore safer) environment while NSW opens up?
Are you feeling nervous about putting your child back into a big day care centre when things return to normal, and have been thinking about the alternatives?
If any of this resonates with you, then my little Family Day Care group may be the answer for you. On each day, I have a maximum of 4 children, so it is a very small germ pool. I have a well ventilated indoor space, and an ample back yard with sand and water play. I have a COVID safe certificate, and of course, follow all the NSW restrictions and guidelines. My preschool program is (if I say so myself) awesome! I do heaps of activities that prepare the children for their transition to school: encouraging independence, emotional and social learning, Munch and Move physical well being program and an introductory taster of Phonics, which helps the children to get a head start in their reading. The kids have fun, and they enjoy coming here and making friends with a close group of buddies that they can transition up to school with.
So, if this interests you, or you know a family that might be interested, then please contact me.

Hello everyone!
I hope you're all keeping well, and that Term 3 has not been too challenging for you.
One more week to go, and then there's a break! A bit of relief from home schooling, and time for your kids to have some fun, hang out with some friends and relax a little. All in a small, safe (as possible) home environment.
The schedule looks a little different from the usual outings and adventures, but I've found some really good online incursions and each day we'll have a JoJos cooking school experience, movies, pyjama parties, art and craft, Lego masters challenges.........
I have only a few spots each day left - let me know asap if you'd like any:
Mon 20th Sept - Jurassic Park Lego - dinosaurs and Lego. What's not to love? I have 2 spots available
Tues 21st Sept- Harry Potter Science - I have 2 spots available
Weds 22nd Sept - No fixed incursions planned as yet- I have one spot available
Thurs 23rd Sept - Circus Show and Juggling - I have two spots available
Fri 24th Sept - No fixed incursions planned - I have two spots available
Mon 27th Sept - Space Lego Workshop- I have 2 spots available We will also be celebrating Lincoln's birthday on this day!
Tues 28th Sept - KPop Dance I have 3 spots available
Weds 29th Sept - No fixed incursions planned - Plenty of spots available
Thurs 30th Sept - Storytime and drawing- I have 3 spots available This is also World Koala Day and happens to be my birthday so we'll have a little celebration of some kind

July lockdown birthdays!!
I'm a big believer in celebrating special days and making birthdays super fun and personal for the birthday child. I LOVE organising parties! But what happens in lockdown? How are we to make these events fun and special when not even family are able to join? Well, we will adapt....families and isolating freinds were able to join via Zoom and share in the event! Being at home meant that we could spend the entire day preparing for the party - baking and decorating hats, making the whole day all about the birthday child! And also letting their freinds understand the importance of organising such an event for our freinds. And of course, all the usual fun stuff too; dress up, party food, games, dancing, balloons and cake!!! I think we can safely say both Charlie (5) and Amelie (3) both had an awesome time at their parties....both very different themes, Charlie's a superhero party and Amelies a yellow theme....but both enjoyed to the max!

Naidoc Week 2021 'Heal Country'
We created a lot of art this week; on walls, in the dirt, on logs, using rocks, sticks and nature's tools. It's was beautiful.
We learnt traditional Aboriginal games, a favourite was 'Kai' originally played using a seed from the kai tree - we used an orange and then a tennis ball...
We made damper, in a regular oven-not on a camp fire or a dirt oven.
It was a wonderful week.....
