What a fabulous finale to our Symphony of Stories Book Week celebrations! We loved seeing our students parade as their favourite book characters, with an amazing array of costumes, including some clucking chicken divas and gregariously grand Grugs! ๐Ÿ”โœจ

It was the perfect culmination to a wonderfully loud and lively week in the library, where we played instruments, made music and celebrated the magic of stories together. What a symphony of stories it has been!

Crackle Creations!

Our Year 1/2 students put their measurement skills into action today making delicious honey and chocolate crackles! From writing shopping lists to measuring ingredients, counting scoops and using different measuring tools, students discovered just how important accuracy is when baking.

Working relationally, they shared jobs, checked measurements and supported one another along the way. A tasty mix of maths, teamwork and real-life learningโ€ฆ with an even tastier ending! ๐Ÿ˜‹

๐Ÿ•๏ธ Year 4โ€“6 Camp 2026 โ€“ What an Adventure! ๐ŸŒŸ

Our Year 4โ€“6 students certainly embraced what it means to be Trailblazers this week, enjoying three action-packed days of adventure, learning, friendship and plenty of laughs!

With beautiful Nunyara in Belair as our home base โ€” complete with stunning views across Adelaide and some fantastic food โ€” our students were challenged to be adventurous, purposeful, compassionate and relational as they experienced all that camp had to offer.

๐Ÿ‰ Day 1 took us to AFL Max, where students explored healthy minds, healthy teams, healthy food and healthy bodies. There was also a very special appearance from Crows legend Rory Sloaneโ€ฆ and itโ€™s fair to say Mr H may have been just a little star-struck! ๐Ÿคฉ

๐ŸŸ๏ธ Day 2 was huge! We explored behind the scenes at Adelaide Oval, including the change rooms, media centre and famous historic scoreboard, before heading to the SA Museum to discover its incredible collections. Then it was off to the ABC studios to meet Tash and the BTN crew! Students saw sets, props and editing in action and even chatted with some of the journalists they watch each week on screen. ๐ŸŽฅ

โ›ณ Day 3 finished our adventure at the Beachouse in Glenelg, where the students showed the teachers who was boss on the mini-golf course before enjoying plenty of arcade-game fun! ๐ŸŽฎ

More than anything, camp was about trying new things, building relationships, supporting one another and creating memories together. Our students represented Good Shepherd wonderfully, showing what it means to be adventurous in embracing new experiences, compassionate in caring for one another, relational in strengthening friendships and purposeful in making the most of every opportunity. ๐Ÿ’™

Three days. Countless memories. One fantastic group of Trailblazers! ๐ŸŒŸ๐Ÿ•๏ธ

Students participated in either Tag Rugby or Pickleball, showing fantastic enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the day. It was especially great to see our students being adventurous, having a go and trying new things!

Well done to everyone involved! ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฅ Curiosity Hatched!
As part of our Patterns and Cycles unit, our Foundation students were delighted to welcome Maggie's mum and her very cute flock of baby chicks into our classroom.
We discovered how old the chicks were, what they need to stay healthy and happy, and just how quickly they grow. This special visit sparked lots of wondering and questions, leading us into our own inquiry about the chicken life cycle and what it would take to raise chicks here at school.
Our young scientists are already busy observing, asking questions and making predictionsโ€ฆ and who knows where their learning will lead next?
๐Ÿฃ Watch this spaceโ€ฆ we might just have some fluffy new classroom friends before long!

Our Year 1/2 students had a fantastic adventure at Yookamurra, exploring the scrub with curiosity and enthusiasm. They asked thoughtful questions, became s**t detectives, and learned how examining animal s**t can reveal what animals have been eating and whether they are healthy.

Students also showed compassion and respect for the wildlife they encountered while learning about the important role conservationists play in protecting native animals and their habitats. It was a wonderful day of exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning.

Yesterday, our Year 5/6 students had the exciting opportunity to visit Faith Lutheran College for CSI Day, giving them a glimpse into life at high school.

Throughout the day, students immersed themselves in a range of engaging learning experiences, including Design & Technology, Science, and Visual Art. They embraced new challenges, explored creative ideas, and worked alongside staff and students in specialist learning spaces.

It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, spark curiosity, and experience some of the exciting opportunities that await them in the years ahead.

๐ŸŒฟ E.D.E.N. Story Inquiry โ€“ Community Mosaics ๐ŸŽจ

Today our Year 2/3 students visited the wonderful Keyneton Community Stobie Pole Mosaics as part of our E.D.E.N. Story inquiry.

Students were inspired by the incredible artwork, explored how mosaics can tell stories about a place, and met local community members who shared their skills and passion for this unique art form. We also discovered how recycled materials can be transformed into beautiful public art that celebrates local flora, fauna and community.

๐Ÿ’ฏ ๐Ÿš€ 100 Days of Trailblazing Together ๐Ÿ’ฏ

What a wonderful way to celebrate 100 Days of School in Foundation!

Today was extra special as we welcomed new friends into our class and took time to reflect on the stories, memories and achievements we've shared over the past 100 days. We put our maths brains to work by exploring lots of different ways to count to 100 before finishing the day with a picnic party and play in EDEN.

It was a Friday filled with laughter, friendship and learningโ€”an adventurous and purposeful way to celebrate how far we've come. Here's to the next 100 days of discovering, growing and learning together!
