Today is National Primary Principals Day 🍎

Yesterday, as a school we celebrated by presenting our leaders with flowers made by each student from Angaston Primary and students spoke about all the wonderful things our Principal and Deputy Principal do for us.

Week 3 Assembly ✨

⭐️Boys and Girls State Netball Championships⭐️

During week 9 of Term 2, 6 students represented both the Barossa and Light girls and the Central Country boys Netball teams at this years School Sport SA State Netball Championships.

This year saw a change in venue with the carnival held at Golden Grove.

Students played 9 games of Netball across three days in cool conditions. Special shoutout to the following for representing Barossa and Light Sapsasa Girls Division 3 team Poppy, Anna, Gracie, Joan and of course Mrs Hearnden as coach of the division 1 team. The girls finished 3rd overall out of ten teams in division 3 winning 7 matches while with Mrs Hearnden’s team finished in 6th place out of 10 in division 1.

Oliver also played as he represented the combined Barossa/Gawler/Mid North district boys team known as Central Country where his team won a couple of games finishing 7th.

All students displayed exceptional school and Sapsasa district values of sportspersonship, determination and resilience and fantastic teamwork and leadership skills.

Well done to everyone involved on a fantastic state championships. All students displayed brilliant skills and we hope you learnt a lot and enjoyed your Netballing experience making some great memories and new friendships.

Week 1 Assembly ✨

⭐️ Congratulations to Greta and Celeste on being selected to perform very special roles at the upcoming Festival of Music concert in Adelaide ⭐️

Celeste was selected for a choreography role and Greta will be singing in a solo performance.

These girls are dedicated and hardworking. Our school is very proud of both of you, and cannot wait to see you on stage! 🎶

⭐️Adelaide Crows Visit⭐️

On Tuesday of Week 10 our school was lucky enough to have a visit from 4 professional AFLW players from the Adelaide Crows Football Club.

From a first year player to the multiple AFLW premiership and league best and fairest winner in Ebony Marinoff. Our students were treated to a Q and A session and an autograph signing. Students received a lesson in what it takes to be a professional athlete regarding a healthy lifestyle and life skills learnt along with hearing about the players careers and journeys from playing football as a kid to the various pathways it takes to make it to the top level of the sport.

It was a fantastic experience for all and a great way to end the term ✅

⭐️Barossa and Light/Gawler SAPSASA Districts Golf Tournament⭐️

On Monday our combined Barossa and Light/Gawler and District SAPSASA Golf tournament was held at Kapunda Golf Club. In cool conditions 6 Angaston PS students were "playing to learn and learning to play" in a fantastic day of competition Golf. They had a clinic in the morning practicing all the various types of golf shots and skills.
In the afternoon students put into practice what they learnt from the golf clinic into competition play.
Students were placed into small groups and played 9 rounds. It was fantastic to see our district and school values on display of sportspersonship, fair play and resilience throughout the competition.
Shoutout to Greta, Savannah, Connor, Jacob, Ethan and Liam for their amazing efforts.

Well done to everyone involved on a fantastic day. All students displayed brilliant skills and we hope you learnt alot and enjoyed your golfing experience.

⭐️ STATE CROSS COUNTRY CARNIVAL ⭐️

During Thursday Week 6, 6 Angaston PS students represented the Barossa and Light Sapsasa District Cross Country team competing at the School Sport SA Cross Country State carnival which was held at the Oakbank race course. In very cold, wet and windy conditions our runners gave their best effort, demonstrating outstanding district and school values of persistence, resilience and determination throughout the day in the tough conditions. We are incredibly proud of the way our students represented the district and supported one another.

Well done to Anna, Poppy, Inge, Oliver, Grayson and Chloe on their incredible efforts. From the 6 Angaston PS runners 4 finished in the top 30 runners for their age groups which is a huge effort considering most races had over 150 runners with some over 200 plus runners.
