A MESSAGE FROM MACKAY KENDO CLUB TO OUR STUDENTS

REMEMBER,

Kendo can be challenging.

There will be nights when your feet don't seem to work.

There will be times when your shinai feels awkward.

There will be techniques that take months to understand.

There will be days when you are tired.

There will also be moments when something suddenly clicks.

That is part of kendo.

Don't compare your progress with somebody else's.

Your journey is your own.

Come to training.

Work hard.

Listen.

Practice.

Respect others.

Keep learning.

And most importantly:

KEEP GOING.

This is Kendo, the way of the sword

Congrats to student Ed who tonight wore japanese kendo dogi and hakama at training. Plus tonight was also his first night wearing kendo bogu. Well done

We are excited to see whats next for Ed in his kendo journey.

Photos from Mackay Kendo Club - Goshu Shobukan's post 01/07/2026

Tonight students trained in full bogu for first time. They loved it and said how much harder it is to do then it looks. But when they were finished they were all smiles and said it was a great session.
