📖 Book Week 2026 📚

What a great week to share the love of reading. Kicked off with book sale in the library during the week and topped off with a great dress up today.

So incredible for all our students to share their favourite characters, books and genres regardless if they dressed up or not. Great to see how confident our students are becoming addressing the whole school parade as well 🤩

We also had Alex and Kimberlee from Gympie Regional Council Libraries come out to share some books and read stories to our students during lunch.

Our Book Sale for Book Week will end Thursday morning at 9am. Come along and see the amazing books for sale from 50c, $1, $2, $5 and $10.

Book Week Dress Up is Thursday 27th August with our Book Week Parade at 2:40pm.

A friendly reminder to our Amamoor State School families that Friday 4 September 2026 is a Student Free Day.

There will be no classes for students on this day as staff participate in professional learning and school planning to support the best possible outcomes for our students.

🪁 Year 3-6 Science Week excursion 🧪

Huge thanks to Mary Valley State College for hosting Dagun, Kandanga and Amamoor for a day of science exploration. Students made kites, catapults, fossils, rockets and shrink key rings. They learnt about the science processes
of reversible and irreversible changes, forces and biological science. Thanks for the delicious sausage sizzle and zooper doppers!
