Following the whole school talk, students took part in age-appropriate sessions throughout the day, learning important road safety messages to help keep themselves and others safe on and around our roads.

This week, Alyangula Area School and Seagrass acknowledged Reconciliation Week by creating a beautiful Sea of Hands mural at school.

The mural represents unity, respect, and our shared commitment to reconciliation, while celebrating the importance of listening, learning, and walking together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Families are welcome to come and have a look over the weekend and see if you can find your childโ€™s hand as part of this special community display.

๐Ÿ“š National Simultaneous Storytime 2026 โ€“ Luna Roo! ๐Ÿ“š

Yesterday, our students proudly joined thousands of children across Australia to take part in National Simultaneous Storytime, sharing in the joy of reading together through this yearโ€™s wonderful story, Luna Roo.

Luna Roo is a heartwarming story about courage, determination, and believing in yourself. The book celebrates the empowerment of girls in sport and shares themes of resilience, teamwork, and confidence โ€” inspired by the excitement and opportunities created through womenโ€™s football and the FIFA Womenโ€™s World Cup. โšฝ๐Ÿ’ซ
Students joined the live stream where they heard directly from the author, learnt to draw the characters with the illustrator, and celebrated the power of storytelling and sport together.

The Preschoolers and T/1's combined to listen to the story, and compete a fun Luna Roo activity, while Mr Molnar added to the fun by running a Year 1/2/3 version of Luna Roo on the basketball court, bringing the story to life through movement, teamwork, and plenty of smiles!

If you would like to continue the story at home, we have multiple copies of Luna Roo available to borrow from the library to enjoy with your family. Happy reading! ๐Ÿ“–โค๏ธ
