Today we celebrated Book Week with a fantastic day full of stories, creativity and fun!

We started with our whole school Book Week Parade, showing off some amazing costumes and favourite book characters.

Students then created their own Alvie Library Jenga blocks, inspired by their imagination and favourite books. We also enjoyed two wonderful stories, ‘The Colours of Home’ and ‘The Emperor’s Egg’, followed by creative activities inspired by each book.

It was a wonderful day celebrating our love of reading and storytelling!

We kicked off our Book Week celebrations this morning with whole school buddy reading, with students coming together to share stories and enjoy some special reading time.

We then continued the fun at lunchtime with a special lunchtime story, giving everyone the chance to sit back, relax and get lost in a good book!

Each day this week, our students will enjoy buddy reading and a lunchtime story as we celebrate the joy of books, reading and imagination.

Science Week!

Today, some of our staff took part in Bike Ed Instructor Training to learn how to deliver the Bike Ed program at our school.
The training focused on teachingour staff how to teach students bike safety, road rules, riding skills and safe riding behaviours through fun and practical activities.
Our staff are now equipped with the skills and accreditation to support our students to become safe and confident riders!

In Art, we have been exploring the wonderful world of abstract art, taking inspiration from artists, Hilma af Klint and Wassily Kandinsky.

We have been learning how artists can use colours, shapes, lines and patterns to express ideas, feelings and emotions without needing to create realistic pictures. Our students have enjoyed experimenting with their own colours, shapes and designs to create unique abstract artworks!

We love seeing the students creativity and imagination shine through their art!

What a special day we had recently celebrating 100 days of learning with our Prep, Grade 1 and Grade 2 students!

Our students had lots of fun taking part in a range of activities all centred around the number 100, getting creative, counting, learning and celebrating just how far they’ve come this year!

We also came together as a whole school community to enjoy a special 100 Days of School lunch. Thankyou to those that made the lunch happen!

On Friday, we celebrated Australian Primary Principals Day and took the opportunity to recognise our wonderful Principal, Rowena, and all that she does for our school community.

Rowena has been with us since the beginning of the year and officially became our Principal at the beginning of Term 3. We are so pleased to welcome Rowena into the role and look forward to all that is ahead for our school community.

Thank you for your dedication, leadership, support and care for our students, staff and families. Your commitment helps make our school such a positive and welcoming place for everyone.

We are very lucky to have you leading our school and appreciate everything you do each and every day!
