🥣🎃 Healthy Eating in the Toddler Room! 🎃🥣

Our toddlers extended their learning about healthy eating by helping to make our centre's delicious pumpkin soup for lunch!

The children explored the different vegetables that go into the soup, learning about pumpkin, carrots, onions, and other healthy ingredients.

They enjoyed looking at, touching, and discussing the vegetables while learning where food comes from and how it helps our bodies grow strong and healthy.

📢 Important Child Care Subsidy (CCS) Update for Families 📢

Please take a moment to review the attached information regarding upcoming 2026/2027 Child Care Subsidy (CCS) changes and important requirements from Services Australia. These updates include changes to CCS income thresholds, subsidy rates, and the hourly rate cap.

⚠️ Important Reminder: If you received CCS during the 2024–25 financial year, you must confirm your family income with Centrelink by 30 June 2026. Failure to do so may result in your CCS stopping and your child care fees reverting to full fees until your income is confirmed.

We encourage all families to read through the attached information carefully and ensure any required actions are completed by the deadline. If you have any questions regarding your CCS eligibility or payments, please contact Centrelink directly.

🦷 Getting Ready for Our Dental Incursion! ✨

Our Toddler children are getting a head start on healthy dental habits as we prepare for our upcoming dental incursion! Using our fantastic new teeth and toothbrush resources, the children have been exploring the importance of brushing their teeth and keeping their smiles healthy.

Through hands-on play and interactive learning experiences, the children have been practising brushing techniques, discussing why we brush our teeth, and learning how to care for their bodies in a fun and engaging way.

These experiences help build children's confidence, independence, and understanding of healthy lifestyle choices while making learning enjoyable and meaningful.

We can't wait for our upcoming dental visit and to continue exploring the importance of oral health together! 😁🪥🦷

Our toddlers have been busy creating and exploring with recycled boxes and natural resources, using their imagination to turn simple materials into meaningful learning experiences.

At our centre, we love embracing sustainable practices and showing children that everyday and recycled materials can be transformed into exciting learning opportunities. Not only does this reduce waste, but it also encourages children to become environmentally aware and responsible from a young age.

🐶 Living Safely with Dogs Incursion 🐶

Today our Kinder children participated in a wonderful Living Safely with Dogs incursion! The children learned how to safely and respectfully interact with dogs through hands-on experiences and engaging discussions.

They explored important safety messages, including how to approach a dog calmly, recognise a dog's body language, and ask permission before patting a dog. The children were excited to put their new knowledge into practice and showed great confidence and respect when interacting with our furry visitor.

Experiences like these help children develop empathy, confidence, and an understanding of how to keep themselves and animals safe. We are so proud of our Kinder children for being such thoughtful and responsible learners! 🐾💙

❄️ Winter Pattern Fun in Kinder! ❄️

Our Kinder children have been exploring patterns and sequencing through a hands-on winter-themed matching activity! 🧤☃️❄️

Using their observation and problem-solving skills, the children carefully identified repeating patterns and predicted what came next. Activities like these help develop early mathematical thinking, concentration, and confidence while making learning fun and engaging.

We love seeing our little learners challenge themselves, work together, and celebrate their successes as they discover new concepts through play-based learning! 💙✨

🌪️ Tornado in a Bottle! 🌪️

Our Kinder children became little scientists today as they explored how to create a tornado in a bottle! Using simple materials and lots of curiosity, the children watched in amazement as the water spun around, forming a mini tornado right before their eyes.

This hands-on science experience encouraged the children to observe, predict, ask questions, and develop an understanding of cause and effect. There were plenty of excited discussions as they discovered how movement can create a vortex just like a real tornado!

What a fun and engaging way to spark curiosity and a love of learning through science. 🧪💙

🐦🌈 How the Birds Got Their Colours 🌈🐦

This week in Kinder, the children explored the Dreamtime story How the Birds Got Their Colours. Through group discussions, storytelling, drawing, and creative art experiences, the children shared their ideas about how birds may have received their beautiful feathers and unique colours.

Together, we created a floor book filled with the children's thoughts, predictions, and illustrations. The children then extended their learning by designing their own colourful birds using feathers, glue, and natural creativity. This hands-on experience encouraged imagination, storytelling, fine motor development, and self-expression.

It has been wonderful to see the children engage so thoughtfully with this story, sharing their ideas and bringing their colourful bird creations to life. 🪶✨
