Our Grade 1/2 students have been loving their time in the kitchen and garden with Marilena 👩🏻‍🍳🪏

In the kitchen, students whipped up some delicious carrot muffins 🧁🥕 and we can officially confirm… they were DELICIOUS! 😋👏

Out in the garden, our students got their green thumbs working and planted nasturtiums 🌸🌱, learning all about growing, caring for and connecting with our garden.

We’re loving seeing our students develop new skills, try new things and enjoy the rewards of growing and cooking their own food! 💙💛

We are so excited to announce that our Book Fair will be open for families to browse and purchase some wonderful books from tomorrow! 📖

Last week, our prep students were lucky enough to welcome the wonderful dental Hygienist, Mariam to their space! They learned all about keeping our teeth and gums healthy, how to brush correctly and why making healthy food and drink choices is so important for our smiles.

Thank you Mariam for helping us become tooth-smart and smile-ready. We’re brushing up on healthy habits one smile at a time! 😁🦷🪥

As part of their inquiry, “I am, You are, We are Altona Meadows,” our prep students were lucky enough to welcome our amazing local firefighters to AMPS! 💙💛

The firefighters taught them all about staying safe in an emergency and shared some very important life-saving messages:
🏡 Always have a safe meeting place outside your home if there’s ever a fire or emergency.
🔥 If there is smoke: Get down low… Go, Go, Go!
🧥 If your clothes catch on fire: Stop, Drop, Cover and Roll!

A huge THANK YOU to our local firefighters for taking the time to visit, share your knowledge and inspire our youngest learners 🚒👨‍🚒 💙💛

Book Week is coming!
Our Book Week this year will be starting on Monday 24th August and finishing on Friday 28th August with our annual book parade.
We have partnered with Lombards, any book week costume purchased with a total spend of $20 or more, we receive 5% donated to our library!

Just a reminder that we’re hosting another Prep Information Night tomorrow evening for prospective 2027 Prep families!
