Our talented students are doing a fantastic job diving into their focus instrument. Every year level is mastering technical skills and learning the art of playing in an ensemble.

Leadership is often measured by the big decisions, but it’s equally reflected in the everyday moments.

On World Principal’s Day, we acknowledge Mr Sims who leads with humility, values community, prioritises connection and never loses sight of learning.

On any given day, he might be managing the school budget, leading professional learning, taking the time to engage with a child’s interests, responding to unexpected challenges or even plunging a toilet!

No task is too small because every task contributes to the culture and functioning of the school.

🏙️ Grade 5 City Camp ✨

Our Grade 5 students had an amazing time exploring Melbourne! Highlights included visits to ACMI, Hosier Lane & AC/DC Lane, the MCG, Melbourne Museum, MSAC, South Melbourne Market and St Patrick's Cathedral.

It was a fantastic few days of learning, teamwork and making lifelong memories. We are so proud of the way our students represented our school!

🧑‍🎨👩‍🎨The Art of Graffiti👩‍🎨🧑‍🎨

In Art last term the Grade 5 and 6 students were learning about graffiti art. They have learnt about street art from around the world as well as local artists here in Melbourne.

The Grade 6 students were lucky enough to go on a Street Art tour where they were guided by street artists. They experienced the laneways of Melbourne and discovered more about this style of art.

➗➕➖✖️Grade One Take Home Maths Bags✖️➕➖➗

The Grade One students have been enthusiastically participating in the Take Home Maths Bag program. Each week, one student takes home a bag filled with engaging and hands-on mathematics activities to explore with their family.

Through games, problem-solving tasks and practical activities, students have been developing important mathematical skills in a fun and meaningful way. The Take Home Maths Bags provides an opportunity for students to extend their mathematical thinking beyond the classroom.

A highlight of the program has been students to proudly sharing their completed activities and reflections with the class.

🥪🎒Excursion aren’t just for the kids!🎒🥪

On Monday 13th July, the QoP staff visited the Mary MacKillop Spirituality Centre in East Melbourne. This excursion was part of the continuing development of Faith Formation. Our staff will be able to share their new knowledge into their classrooms.

They learnt about Mary MacKillop’s life and her journey to sainthood. In order for anyone to become a saint there are seven key values in which a person is asscessed; Faith, Hope, Charity, Justice, Pruedence, Fortitude and Temperance.

The staff were encouraged to think about how they each show these values in their everyday lives and how we show these values in our school.

In the F-Grade 2 Library lessons, students journeyed into the exciting world of fiction. They explored imaginative stories, identified key elements such as characters, settings, plot and discovered how these features work together to bring stories to life. Through their reading, students strengthened their understanding of storytelling while fostering creativity, curiosity and a love of books.
