After an amazing year as a club with many, many, many achievements and fun memories made together. We have decided on our TOP 5 moments of 2023!
In no particular order:
No.1~ Sempei Mia and Sempei Alex after their first year competing in the elite division they both made the Victorian state team. And after alot of training and hard work they competed in the Australian National Championships in Western Australia in august where they both brought back an Australian Championship medal! With Sempei Mia placing 3rd and Sempei Alex placing 2nd! An amazing achievement, especially for their first nationals! Can’t wait to see what next year has in store for these two champs! 🌟
No.2~ October was Pink belt month. Not only for Altona Meadows but all of Shindo! Our club as a whole supported, brought awareness, and donated $10,650! to fight against Breast Cancer! Thankyou to everyone who opened their hearts and support this cause! 🎗️🎀
No.3~ This year not only did we get pink belts, but we had a record breaking amount of students getting their new belts! Our students where on their grind this year and showed an unmatched amount of determination and dedication we have ever seen in the past! And this hard work is demonstrated through their amazing skill, discipline and of course new colour belts. On top of having our kyu rank gradings we had a few black belt gradings, where multiple of our most hard working students where put to the test over 2 long days to achieve their black belt or even their confirmation (1st Dan)! Congratulations to all of our students and make sure you bring back the hard work to next year!
No.4~ In September we saw our students thrive and excel when put into an unfamiliar environment. We held our annual Altona Meadows Shindo tournament and saw our students step out of their comfort zone and have heaps of fun competing against their peers. If you enjoyed doing the tournament this year have a talk to Sensei Chris about entering so more in the new year! ☺️
No.5~ Last but definitely not least, we held our pizza! Everyone’s favourite night of the year, filled with fun, happiness and lots of PIZZA!
