supported🏃‍♀️🏃 What a wonderful day we had at our Athletics Carnival on Friday!

We were blessed with beautiful weather ☀️ and it was a joy to share the day with our friends from St Joseph’s, Coraki. Our students had a fantastic time participating in events, cheering one another on and enjoying the chance to be together as a school community.

A special thank you to Mr Seymour and Mr Maslen for their organisation and leadership in bringing the day together. Thanks to our staff who supported students and ran the activities throughout the day. Thank you also to our parent helpers who supported events and assisted in the canteen, and to Mrs Thrum and Mrs Towns for their amazing work in arranging the canteen for the day. 👏

We are especially proud of the way our students joined in with enthusiasm, showed great sportsmanship and encouraged each other throughout the day.

Well done to everyone involved!

Our Year 4 students enjoyed a wonderful school sleepover before taking part in their 'Accendere' Retreat Day last Friday! Through a range of fun and prayerful experiences, students explored what it means to grow as caring, respectful and inclusive friends, following the example of Jesus in welcoming and valuing everyone.

A special thank you to our amazing staff, particularly Mrs Keough and Mrs Crosby, for making this memorable experience possible. There were plenty of smiles, lots of laughter, and by Friday afternoon, more than a few tired eyes and happy hearts!

What a lovely Term 2 Community Celebration afternoon we shared together on Thursday!

Our theme was Winter Woolies, and it was wonderful to see students and staff rugged up while supporting the St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal. Thank you to our families for your generous donations, which will help support people in our wider community during the colder months.

Students spent the afternoon enjoying a range of fun activities and spending time with children from different year levels. These afternoons give us a chance to celebrate our shared values and the strong sense of belonging that makes St Joseph’s such a special place to learn, grow and flourish.

Thank you to everyone who helped make the afternoon such a joyful celebration of our school community.

Revealed: Top 160 NSW primary schools for maths and literacy growth 20/05/2026

🌟 We are grateful to share that St Joseph’s Primary School, Alstonville, has been recognised by the Sydney Morning Herald as one of 160 primary schools in NSW showing strong improvement in student results from Year 3 to Year 5.

While we know that learning is about so much more than test results, this is a lovely affirmation of the quiet, consistent work happening across our school each day.

It reflects the care, skill and commitment of our staff, the effort of our students, and our continued focus on strong, explicit approaches to teaching that are aligned with evidence about how children learn best.

💙 We are very proud of our students, staff and school community.

This Sunday, our school community is warmly invited to attend 8:30 am Mass at the parish.

Following Mass, St Joseph’s will be hosting the Parish Morning Tea as a way of celebrating and thanking the many parish volunteers whose generous gift of time helps our parish run smoothly and ensures people in our community are supported and cared for.

Our students have been colouring in cards to help our volunteers feel acknowledged and celebrated for the wonderful work they do.

New visitors to the parish are always warmly welcomed by Fr Max, often with a chocolate, and this Sunday, Mr Challinor will also be leading the children’s liturgy during Mass.

We would love to see many of our families there for Mass, morning tea afterwards, and some play time for the children on the school playground.

If you are able to bring a plate to share for morning tea, that would be greatly appreciated.

We hope to see you there!

What a beautiful celebration we had on Friday for our Mother’s Day Breakfast and Prayer Assembly!

Thank you to all of our amazing mums, grandmothers and mother figures who joined us. Our hall was absolutely packed, with standing room only, which was a wonderful sign of the love and connection in our school community.

We hope you were all thoroughly spoiled on Sunday and that you know how deeply you are loved and appreciated. You are superheroes in our eyes, and we know how much your children appreciate all that you do for them.

Feel free to leave a heart 💙 below to help us celebrate all the wonderful mums, grandmothers and mother figures in our community.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Thank you to the 170+ mothers, grandmothers and mother figures who joined us this morning for our Mother’s Day Breakfast and Liturgy.

It was a beautiful morning of coffee, croissants, games, prayer and celebration. We were treated to a special song, a terrific comedy routine, and we loved hearing from our students in a video about what makes their mums and special women superheroes.

A sincere thank you to our teachers for helping make the morning so special, to Mrs Thrum and Pam in the canteen for their wonderful support, and especially to Mrs Jones for all her work in putting together such a memorable morning.

We hope all our mothers, grandmothers and mother figures are celebrated and spoiled this Sunday.

We'll share some more amazing photos of mums and their beautiful children on Sunday!
