A very exciting day for North Coast Pathway… we got a BUS! 🚍
Today, Maria, Ryley and a group of our students travelled to Ballina to collect our brand new school bus.
This is a fantastic addition to our school, supporting safe and reliable transport for excursions, community activities and our much-loved Adventure Fridays.
We’re looking forward to the many learning experiences, opportunities and memories this will help create for our students.

Today at North Coast Pathway we proudly celebrated World Autism Awareness Day 💙
Our amazing students led the entire event from start to finish. From catering the food, creating decorations and putting together a thoughtful presentation on autism, to helping spread awareness across our school community.
We also held a gold coin fundraiser and wore blue to show our support and raise awareness.
Funds raised will go towards Creating Positive Pathways a Disability Service in the Northern Rivers. Their dedicated team provides personalised support for individuals with disabilities, offering programs such as group sessions, after school and holiday activities, in home support, as well as services like domestic cleaning, yard maintenance, behaviour support and advocacy. They are committed to fostering independence, enhancing quality of life and creating inclusive environments where everyone can thrive.
What a lovely way to wrap up Term 1. We hope everyone has a safe and fun easter break and we can’t wait to see you back in Term 2 on Tuesday 21st April 🐣

On Wednesday we had a visit from the amazing team at Batyr to learn about youth support and development.
We spoke about mental health, the importance of checking in on those around you (even if they seem okay), and making sure you’re also looking after yourself especially after having big or difficult conversations.
We also learnt where to access support and that it’s always okay to ask for help. There is always someone around you, even if it doesn’t feel like it.
A huge thank you to the Batyr for coming in, sharing your stories and helping bring awareness to a topic that can feel uncomfortable but is so important to talk about.
Support services we explored:
💚 Kids Helpline (free online & phone counselling): 1800 55 1800
💚 Lifeline (free crisis support): 13 11 14
💚 Headspace (free face-to-face + online counselling): 1800 650 890
💚 13YARN (free, confidential crisis support for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people): 13 92 76
You matter. You’re not alone - if you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out and talk to someone.
North Coast Pathway students are always welcome to reach out to teachers and staff too - we’re here to support you.

What an amazing day of learning!
Our North Coast Pathway students visited the Australian Seabird & Turtle Rescue in Ballina, where we learned about the incredible work being done to rescue and rehabilitate sea turtles and seabirds along our coastline.
We even met some recovering turtles including Tilly, Willow and Halloumi, who are now barnacle-free and expected to be released back into the wild soon.
A big thank you to Jen, staff and volunteers who dedicate their time to protecting marine life and sharing their knowledge with our students.

A very special shoutout and heartfelt thank you to one of our student’s grandparents, Russ 💚
Since the launch of North Coast Pathway, Russ has been incredibly generous, always looking for ways he can support our school community. From quietly volunteering his time to pressure clean our school grounds for improved appearance and safer environment (without ever being asked!) to simply showing up with a helping hand, his kindness does not go unnoticed.
Russ, thank you for your continued support and the care you show our Pathway family. You truly are a superstar ⭐
We are so grateful to have you as part of our community.

Reminder: You’re allowed to take a different path 💚
Not everyone’s journey looks the same and that’s okay.
At North Coast Pathway, we support young people in Years 9 & 10 who need something a little different from mainstream schooling. A calmer space. Smaller classes. More support.
Different doesn’t mean wrong.
Sometimes it’s exactly what you need to move forward 🌱
