Welcome back Elyssa! Lyss has been off on maternity leave with her beautiful baby boy, and has returned for some casual days with us. Elyssa will be starting back permanently in March and we look forward to having her spend time in each room offering her vast amount of knowledge and experience in early childhood education and care. We are so excited she is back! 🥰

This year we welcome back Bri as our Centre Director, Nikki as our Educational Leader, and Nicola and Kiyah as our lunch / programming cover. We are so excited for 2026 🥳

Summerland Farm Excursion 🤩 Today was the Kangaroos end of year excursion, celebrating their last year at Possum Place! They had the most amazing time playing with the animals, splashing at the water park and enjoying a nice cold ice block 🥳

Possum Place Christmas Party 2025 🎄🎅🏼 Last night, we had our Possum Place Christmas Party and we are so overwhelmed with gratitude from the support of our families, taking time to celebrate the year with us. We had such a great time and we are so proud to have such an amazing Possum Place family. Thank you all again for an incredible 2025. ❤️

Director’s Day 2025 🥰

Yesterday was Director’s Day, a day to celebrate our one and only Elly. Elly is our rock here at Possum Place and we would be absolutely lost without her. Elly’s ongoing support, encouragement, commitment and knowledge guides each and every single one of us through our days, and for that, we are forever grateful. Thank you Elly. ❤️
We would also like to say a huge thank you to Bri and Lisa who also make Possum Place so special, we are so grateful for all that you do for us. ✨

GRANDPARENT’S DAY 🥰 Yesterday, we celebrated Grandparent’s Day with a delicious afternoon tea and a play in our indoor learning environments. We enjoyed showing our Grandparents all of our favourite experiences and are so grateful we got to spend the afternoon with our families. Thank you all for coming! 🤩

Meet the Team: Bri 🤩

Bri is an educator across all of our rooms here at Possum Place, holding her Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Bri has been a part of Possum Place for a couple of years now on and off and we look forward to her future here!

Get to Know:

What inspired you to begin your career in Early Childhood Education? My Mum has owned childcare centres since I was a child, so I was always around them and spending time in them, so my passion came from that. I have my own children as well so I love being able to be a part of each child’s journey.

If you were to be deserted on an island, what three items would you take with you? My husband (he would know that to do), sunscreen and my kindle.

If you were a superhero, what would your power be? Teleportation.

Where is your favourite holiday destination? The Maldives.

What was your favourite subject at school? English and Legal Studies.

What’s your favourite way to spend the weekend? I love a slow weekend at home.

Meet the Team: Elyssa 🤩

Elyssa has been an educator at Possum Place since 2021 but is currently on maternity leave, soaking up the newborn months with her beautiful Son, Elyssa will return early next year. Elyssa holds a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and Primary, spending many of her years at Possum Place in the Preschool Room but this year, spent time in the Possum Room before heading off on mat leave.

Get to Know:

What inspired you to begin your career in Early Childhood Education? My Mum, she’s a teacher. Watching her as I grew up, she showed me the impact a teacher / educator can have on young children and their families both inside and out of the care setting, sparking my passion for the profession.

If you were to be deserted on an island, what three items would you take with you? A swag, water and a cheese board.

If you were a superhero, what would your power be? Teleportation.

Where is your favourite holiday destination? Thailand or Malta - I can’t pick.

What was your favourite subject at school? Psychology.

What’s your favourite way to spend the weekend? Sitting around a fire with my friends and my little family.
