Darren started playing golf at 12 years of age and turned professional at the age of 23, After teaching and media work overseas for the past 15 years he is now back home in Melbourne and quickly establishing himself as one of the better teachers in the country. A list of achievments thus far are:
Teaching
•Member of Australian Professional Golfers Association since 1991
•Member of Australian Coaching Council [ AAA Rating ] since 1991
•Underwent intensive professional training including the 6000 hour training program in Australia
•Played Australasian tour from 1994 to 1996 winning several tournaments on the Australian circuit
•Head Teaching Professional at the Aschuffenberg Golf Club in Germany in 1999
•Head Teaching Professional at the Warren Golf & Country Club in Singapore in 2001
•Teaching Golf Professional at Asian Golf Academy from 2002 to 2012

5 years of working on Golf Focus, a weekly golf show that discussed both completed and upcoming tournaments on the world stage. Filmed in a Singapore studio it went out to 100 million homes through South East Asia on ESPN/STAR cable network

4 years of live coverage from the US Masters 2006-9

5 years of Asian and co sanctioned European tour commentating for both WorldSportGroup and Asian Tour International, both on course and co commentary working with people such as Alan Wilkins (asian and oneasia tour) Doogie Donnelly and Richard Kauffman(european tour) Dominic Boulet (asian tour) and Bill Macatee (US Tour )

On course commentary for Asian Amateur Championship, an event run by US masters committee in conjunction with the R & A with the winner getting a start in following years Masters.

Yarrambat Seniors Pennant team has won their division after a closely fought final with Tirhatuan Park and the Scratch Pennant team has qualified for the final with a round remaining. With the A grade ladies also undefeated in their section its almost time to build a new cabinet for all the flags to fit in.

31 years of watching, from superstars like Jack and Tom and Seve to One hit wonders like Weir and Johnson and the occasional sneaky South African donning the green jacket, to the years of The Great White Sharks near misses that still attracted thousands to the game in this country. We say to you Greg thank you for your efforts and the way you carried the game on your shoulders for a generation but the King is dead , long live the King . Congratulations Adam Scott you are a class act and if all aspiring golfers out there follow the way you conduct yourself on and off the golf course then the game will be in a good place.

Tiger Woods wins at BayHill and claims his 6th win in his last 20 events. To put that in perspective Luke Donald, Hunter Mahan and Padraig Harrington have not won that many times on the US Tour in their careers at this stage. By reclaiming the No 1 ranking he proves the old adage Form is temporary Class is permanent
