🎖️Athletics Carnival this Friday 19th June! 🎖

🔵Tuckshop has been moved from Thursday to Friday for the Carnival. Families wishing to purchase tuckshop prior to 9am Friday morning through the Spriggy Schools App.

🔴Students should arrive at John Nicholson Oval at 8:45am for a 9am start. Please come prepared with closed in footwear, a wide brimmed hat, sunscreen, water bottle and packed lunch.

Alpha State School held a practice Emergency Evacuation drill this afternoon. All students demonstrated our school values of being safe, respectful and responsible throughout the practice.

Our students continue to show our school and community why we are the best in the west!

A huge congratulations to Bailee and Tori for their outstanding efforts at the North West Touch Football Trials! Both played exceptionally well throughout the trials.
A special congratulations to Tori on being selected for the North West team — a fantastic achievement!
We are incredibly proud of both Bailee and Tori for the way they represented our school, showing great sportsmanship, determination, and teamwork. Well done!

📣🔵🔴Yungi & Kabi Sports Mascot Competition🔴🔵📣

Stage 1: What animal best suits the mascot for Yungi and Kabi?
The 2026 Alpha State School Student Council would like to create animal characters for their beloved Yungi and Kabi houses. They would like to reach out to the Alpha State School community for suggestions around which animals best suit each sporting team. If you’d like to have your say, please follow the QR Code in the poster attached. Please also feel free to share with other community members past and present. The competition closes Friday 26th June at 5:00pm.

Digital Technology Update: Coding with Bee-Bots!

Our Year 3–4 students have been diving into the world of coding this term! They have been busy mastering the basics of algorithms and flowcharts. On Friday, they put their skills to the test with Bee-Bots—hands-on, programmable robots that follow student-coded directions to navigate various maps. Next week, the tech adventure continues as we step up to Scratch, where students will begin creating even more complex algorithms!

What a wonderful morning we had celebrating 70 years of play for Under 8's Day! We explored magnetism, created paper plate jellyfish & sharks, had fun with assorted play, made connections with our friends in the sandpit, obstacle course and the Kindy's rainbow cafe. To top it off we made fruit and yoghurt cups for Brain Break! YUM
