What a delicious day of learning! 🍌 Our 3/4 Technology unit took a tasty turn today as students investigated healthy lunch box options and whipped up banana and choc-chip muffins.

The best part? These treats doubled as a hands-on Maths lesson in measuring liquids and solids 📏, turning the kitchen into a classroom where every scoop and pour counted. The chocolate-covered smiles at tasting time told us everything we needed to know—these muffins were absolutely a hit! 😋

There's something special about learning that you can eat, and today proved that combining subjects creates memories that stick around long after the crumbs are gone. 🧁✨

Year 9/10 ITD update

Our first finished manufactured piece out of the Alpha State School workshop! Juliet has worked diligently to complete her first workshop piece to a high standard. Its final stop is the paint shop (art room), where it will be covered in a variety of shades of pink before making its way home.

🎶COME WATCH US PERFORM TOMORROW!🎶

Today our instrumental students had the opportunity of a face to face lesson with our wonderful teacher, Mrs. Parker. We practiced our arco, pizzicato and glissando in small groups, and then came together for the very first Alpha Strings Ensemble practice.

It was such a wonderful success that we would love to invite parents, families and friends to a performance at the School Hall tomorrow morning at 9am. 😊

🎉📚Book Week Dress Up Assembly! 🎉📚

Yesterday we kicked off Book Week with our Book character Dress Up assembly.

Afternoon sport cancelled Wednesday 26th August and Wednesday 2nd September due to staff professional development.

We are looking forward to having students playing soccer again in week 9 on Wednesday 9th September.

Congratulations to the Alpha State School students that represented Central West Sport at the Sunset Carnival in Longreach this weekend!
It’s wonderful to see such a strong representation of Alpha students at this level of sport. Yet another example of why we are the ‘best in the west’.

The Preps celebrated Science week by going on a nature walk.

We explored, documented and discussed the different parts of a tree and were excited to see some insect activity starting to occur as well. The students found several different types of seed pods from different plants which started discussions on what a seed pod is and we were able to link it learning from our science day activities last week.

The students enjoyed using technology to document their finds and were very excited about finding a hidden daisy in the school grounds.

Year 7–10 Camp – Day 5!

We are on our way back home. After some lunch in Emerald, we will be on our final stretch back to Alpha State School. Our current ETA is 1:45pm - 2:00pm.
