Alloway State School

Morning Parents and carers. Tomorrow, we start swimming lessons for this school year.
We do three whole days Friday's 9th, 16th & 23rd. And 2 one hour sessions Tuesday afternoon 13th and 20th.

On the Fridays please send your children to school with their swimming clothes on underneath their school uniforms. This will help with getting to the pool less rushed.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Unfortunately, I am going to postpone the Bundy Bowl Excursion this Thursday 17th September. Both Mrs Gray and Miss Horsten are both very unwell and will not be at school for the rest of this week.

We have spoken to Bundy Bowl and we are able to book the 15th October, Thursday Week 2 next term.

Thank you for your understanding

Principal

From Mr Pelusi, our PE Teacher.

Hi everyone.

Thank you to everyone for their participation in last Friday's touch footy gala day, held at Kolan South SS. It was great day, and the students did an amazing job considering that some teams had to field some younger students and touch is a bit trickier to play than soccer to play. Thank you for all your efforts, organising your teams/students and getting them to and from the event on the day.

A big thank you needs to go out Ben for helping me set up the day. The school looked great and Ben made sure the fields were marked out perfectly; the tuckshop ran smoothly and the was food was tasty. Please pass on our gratitude to your groundsman and tuckshop convenor and volunteers. They did an amazing job.

A big shout out also has to go out to Will Winter and Candice Higgins for giving up their time to attend and referee our games and bring out extra staff to help. Plus, they donated some prizes for the teams which is always a nice touch. Both Will and Candice just love the fact the kids are just having fun and playing footy and love to support these gala days as they can see they are a huge success. Without them, teachers would have had to help me referee. The sportsmanship showed on the field had by all teams has to be commended as well.

Thank you also to Alloway and David for providing a TRS day to allow me to be convenor of the gala day.

Have a great last week and safe September holiday break everyone.

Please remember to send through any recommendations or ideas on how to improve any future gala days moving forward.

I look forward to seeing you all return with teams in 2027.

What a wonderful Spring morning at Playgroup today. Purple fingers and lips are the best and having a swing just tops it off so well.

Welcome to the new playgroup attendees.
