On Tuesday, our school community came together to support the Big Freeze and raise funds for MND (Motor Neurone Disease). Staff and members of our Healthy Moves SALT bravely took on the icy challenge, getting soaked with freezing cold water and ice! ๐ฅถ
Students showed their support by wearing blue and donating a gold coin, helping us raise a grand total of $334.40 for this important cause. ๐
We are also running a special colouring-in competition, with winners to be announced at an upcoming assembly. ๐จ
A huge thank you to Coles and Bunnings for their generous vouchers and prizes for our colouring competition. Their support is appreciated.
A big thank you as well to our SALT team, staff, and everyone in our school community who contributed to making this day such a success. ๐

Yesterday, our Year 5 and Year 6 students attended the Primary Performers production of ๐๐ฝ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐๐ฝ๐พ๐๐๐ ๐ต๐ถ๐๐ ๐ต๐ถ๐๐.
Students thoroughly enjoyed this engaging and high-quality musical performance, which provided a valuable opportunity to experience live theatre. ๐ถโจ
A particular highlight was seeing our own Chiara in a leading role, demonstrating confidence and strong performance skills on stage. ๐
We commend our students for their exemplary behaviour and the respectful way they represented our school. We also extend our thanks to staff for their organisation and support in providing this enriching experience. ๐

Congratulations to our Regional Cross Country runners from Tuesday. Once again, there were big fields and tough competition. ๐ ๐
Harley finished 28th, an excellent result for someone who just turns up and runs.
Emmett has once again qualified for States this year after placing 6th in his group.
Well done to both boys, and we look forward to cheering Emmett on later in the year. โจ

Yesterday, our Community SALT team organised a special โHoodie Up for Autismโ day to recognise individuality and celebrate the diversity within our school community.
This yearโs theme, Diversity in Our Community, encouraged understanding, inclusion, and acceptance of the many different ways people learn, think, communicate, and belong within our school environment. ๐โจ
Students were invited to wear a hoodie or comfortable clothing of their choice as a way of showing support and celebrating what makes each student unique. ๐
As part of the day, students completed a classroom activity that will contribute to a whole school display with the message: โWe All Fit Together.โ ๐งฉ๐ค
We are proud to celebrate a community where everyone belongs. ๐

Yesterday our Year 3 to Year 6 students had the opportunity to meet and chat with Geelong AFLW players. ๐
The players delivered a small presentation, and students had the chance to ask questions and learn more about their experiences. The visit finished with plenty of fun on the top oval, including kick to kick, handballing, and active games together.
Thank you, Bridie, Jacqui, Katie and Nicola, for visiting ADPS and inspiring our students through sport and shared experiences. ๐

On Friday, our students and staff participated in National Walk and Ride Safely to School Day. ๐ถโโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ
Students were encouraged to walk or ride all or part of the way to school, promoting healthy habits and an active lifestyle. In doing so, they also made a positive impact on reducing traffic congestion around the school as there were less students being dropped off by parents. ๐ช
Our Healthy Moves SALT supported the event by counting participants, analysing whole-school participation data, speaking at assembly, and presenting prizes. ๐๐
Congratulations to all students and families who took part and helped make the day a success. ๐
Remember: be active, be safe.๐ฆ

Tuesday, we held our Busy Bee Brunch, where we were delighted to meet potential 2027 Foundation students and their families. ๐โจ
Everyone enjoyed a quick tour of the school and our facilities before the children participated in a range of fun activities, including arts and crafts, science, colouring, and Play-Doh construction. ๐จ
Guests also enjoyed the โBee Bopโ performance by our Year 5 students, as well as a video created by current students showcasing why Allansford and District Primary School is such a wonderful place to learn. ๐ถ
We were also excited to welcome a special visitor, Ted the Bee, who buzzed around adding to the fun and friendly atmosphere. ๐๐ ๐
Parents had plenty of opportunities to ask questions and chat with staff throughout the morning. ๐ซ
We are incredibly proud of our Year 5 students, who were outstanding hosts and shone throughout the morning with their friendliness and kindness. They ensured the activities ran smoothly and engaged all of our visitors in a fun and welcoming way.๐

With each race featuring up to 75 competitors, the day was certainly busy, navigating the course while working through the heavy traffic.๐ช
