EA APPRECIATION WEEK 🧡

This week, students from our ELC, Junior School and Senior School helped us recognise EA Appreciation Week, delivering coffee vouchers to our Education Assistants across the School.

It was a small way to say a big thank you for the care, patience and support our EAs provide each day, and for the important role they play in the learning and lives of our students.

This is a full-time, ongoing role, working as part of our Facilities team to help maintain our School grounds, buildings and facilities and keep our campus running smoothly.

MASTERCHEF CHALLENGE 2026 👨‍🍳🏆

Our annual MasterChef Challenge returned this week, with students once again going head-to-head with their chosen teachers in a friendly kitchen showdown.

Both sides brought plenty of skill and creativity to the cook-off, before our judges faced the difficult task of choosing a winner.

This year, the staff took the MasterChef crown but just one point! Congratulations to our winning teachers and well done to all students and staff who took part in another fun year of competition. 👏✨

FANTASTIC MR FOX 🦊📚

Today, our Year 2B students brought Roald Dahl’s Fantastic Mr Fox to life in their assembly, linking their learning in class with our very own School mascot.

Having enjoyed reading a range of Roald Dahl stories, students shared their own version of Fantastic Mr Fox, complete with characters, storytelling and singing. The assembly also highlighted the importance of working together, sharing and kindness, reflecting the spirit of our School.

Congratulations to our Boys Soccer team, who secured a fantastic 2–0 semi-final win in Safety Bay yesterday, despite some very wet and wild conditions!

The win sees the team advance to the Grand Final at Sam Kerr Football Centre towards the end of this term.

STUDENT VOLUNTEER AFTERNOON TEA ✨

Yesterday, we were incredibly proud to celebrate three outstanding St James’ students — Kent (Year 11), Keeley (Year 12) and Zoe (Year 12) — who were successfully awarded a Service Award at the Student Volunteer Afternoon Tea.

Back in March, schools were invited to nominate students who had made a positive contribution through volunteering and service within their school and wider community, recognising the valuable impact of young volunteers in Pearce. The students were presented with their awards by the Hon Jason Clare, Federal Minister for Education, Tracey Roberts MP, Member for Pearce, and Mr Mark Folkard MLA.

Well done to Kent, Keeley and Zoe for the positive difference they continue to make. 👏

VOLLEYBALL WA SCHOOLS CUP 🏐

Last week, our Volleyball Specialist Program students took part in the 2026 Volleyball WA Schools Cup. With nearly 200 students competing across 24 teams, our students took to the court across three days, showcasing their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for students to challenge themselves, compete against other schools and put their training into practice.

MULTICULTURAL CUP - NETBALL CARNIVAL

Our Junior School students recently took part in the Multicultural Netball Carnival, enjoying a round-robin tournament designed to develop netball skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

Our Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 teams both finished as winners, with the Year 5/6 team going undefeated throughout! 🏆
