When play has no set outcome, children get to decide what happens next. 🧱🐾

Our outdoor space became a building site last week as the children used large blocks to create homes for their animals - testing ideas, moving pieces, balancing structures and changing their designs as they went.

Through this kind of open-ended play, children are doing far more than building. They’re strengthening gross motor skills, exploring balance and spatial awareness, problem-solving when something doesn’t quite work and using their imagination to bring their own ideas to life.

There’s no “right” way to build a home, and that’s exactly the point 🌿

The work that keeps children safe doesn’t only happen when they’re in the room. 💛

Last week, our educators came together for Active Supervision Training, taking time to strengthen their knowledge, reflect on current practices and continue building the skills that support children’s safety every day.

Active supervision is about more than simply watching. It’s about being present, anticipating risks, understanding the environment and knowing where your attention is needed at any given moment ⭐️

Ongoing professional development like this matters. It gives our team the opportunity to learn together, share knowledge and make sure the practices within our centre continue to reflect the high standard of care we expect for every child.

We’re incredibly proud of a team that never stops learning - because providing a safe, supportive environment for children is a responsibility we take seriously. 🌿

Our Kindy children had a wonderful adventure on our bus excursion to Agora Bush Walk! 🚌🌿

We wanted to give the children the opportunity to explore the bush walk through their own eyes, so we took our iPad along. The children had so much fun taking photos and videos of the things that caught their attention.

It was so lovely to watch their videos and hear their excited little voices sharing what they had discovered. The photos they captured gave us a special glimpse into what interested them and what they noticed along the way.

The children were thrilled to spot all kinds of creatures, including pink galahs, caterpillars and woodlice. We even heard a kookaburra! They loved stopping to look, listen and talk about the animals and insects they found 🦜

It was beautiful to see their curiosity and excitement as they explored nature together. They weren’t just discovering the world around them - they were sharing ideas, building friendships and creating special memories along the way.

We’re so grateful to be able to provide opportunities like these, giving our children the chance to learn, explore and connect with the world beyond the centre. 💚

A big thank you to one of our wonderful centre mums, Ligia from Mix with Ligia , who generously dropped off homemade playdough samples for our families to take home 🤍

Made in her Thermomix, these colourful creations are a fun way to encourage creativity, sensory play and imagination at home 🌈

Thank you, Ligia, for your kindness and for sharing your small business with our community!

Recently, our teams from across all Tribe Early Learning Centres came together for a collaborative professional development session focused on the KG Learning Approach 🤝

Each room reflected on their Term 2 Inquiry, celebrating the learning journeys that unfolded throughout the term. Together, teams created beautiful inquiry documentation that captured children's learning, experiences, voices, educator reflections, and the growth that emerged through our inquiry approach.

It was a valuable opportunity to collaborate, learn from one another, and continue strengthening our shared commitment to creating meaningful, child-led learning experiences for every child 📚

Last week, we took part in Pyjama Day in support of Fostering Hope WA. 💙

Staff and children were invited to wear their pyjamas and bring along a new pair of PJs to donate to children entering foster care who may have nothing more than the clothes they are wearing.

So far, our amazing community has donated an incredible 41 pairs of pyjamas and 1 cosy dressing gown. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making a difference. 🫶

Our collection box will remain in the foyer until Friday this week, so there’s still time to donate if you’d like to support this wonderful cause.

This week on our bush walk excursion, the children immersed themselves in nature, collecting leaves, sticks, seed pods and other natural treasures along the way. Back at the centre, they used their discoveries to create beautiful nature-inspired artworks, encouraging creativity while extending their learning through hands-on exploration 🫶

Experiences like these help create curiosity, observation skills and a genuine appreciation for the natural environment, proving that some of the best learning happens outside. 🌱

Last Tuesday, our Kindy children headed off to Clarkson Library for Storytime! 🦉📚 We hopped on the bus full of excitement and couldn’t wait to begin our adventure.

This week’s Storytime theme was all about owls. The children enjoyed listening to three wonderful stories before joining in with lots of singing and dancing along the way. They did an amazing job listening, participating and engaging throughout the session.

To finish the morning, each child received a stamp, a sticker and a special owl to decorate, making the experience even more memorable.

Excursions like these help create a love of reading, build confidence in group settings, and strengthen our connection with the local community. We know the children couldn’t wait to share their adventure with their friends, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit! 💚

We're proud to have achieved Food Safety Plus Verification 🌟

This recognition reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards across every stage of food preparation, storage and service within our centre.

For families, it means confidence that the meals and snacks provided each day are supported by robust food safety practices, ongoing compliance processes and a team dedicated to children's wellbeing.

Because when it comes to nourishing growing minds and bodies, safety matters just as much as nutrition. 💚

💙 Last week, we were pleased to welcome Brian from Zaza's Legacy to our centre, who kindly donated a LifeVac device and provided training to Ceri on its safe use.

We were first introduced to Zaza's Legacy through one of our wonderful families, who shared information about how LifeVac can help in choking emergencies and the important work the organisation does to raise awareness.

The LifeVac is a simple, non-invasive device designed to help clear airway obstructions in seconds. Using a one-way valve system, it creates suction to help remove a blockage without pushing it further down the airway.

LifeVac devices are already being used in homes and aged care settings across Australia. While it is not a replacement for first aid or CPR, it can provide an additional emergency backup when every second counts 🤝

We are incredibly grateful to have received this device and the accompanying training. Opportunities like this help us continue our commitment to providing a safe and supportive environment for all children in our care.

If any families would like to learn more about LifeVac or are interested in purchasing one for their home, we encourage you to visit the Zaza's Legacy website for further information 💙
