Our Timor Leste crew visited with Br Paul Gilchrist at ICFP late last week as well as enjoying time with students at St Marcellin pre-school in Uai Aca. Ms Russ joined them on Friday too!

Traeger turned into an Ancient Greek Wax Museum this week! 🏦 Well done to our Year 7 students, who transformed into gods, goddesses, and mythical creatures. Each student brought their characters to life brilliantly!

Parents and other classes had the opportunity to “interview” our living statues, hearing fascinating stories, facts and myths straight from the characters themselves. What a great, hands-on learning experience! 🌟

Bath Street held their Sports Day yesterday, and what a fantastic day it was! ☀️

The students had a lot of fun participating in novelty games, giving their best efforts in high jump, long jump, and shot put, and showing great enthusiasm during the war cries.

It was a beautiful day to be out at the Head Street Oval, enjoying some friendly competition. A wonderful way to wrap up a busy and successful term of learning!

Congratulations to Standley for winning overall and Achoa for receiving the team sport award 🥇

Well done to all of our students for their participation, effort, and sportsmanship throughout the day. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

At Sadadeen they discussed what the central space could look like once the old canteen and boys toilets are demolished. 🛠️ Students are Traeger also had the opportunity to consult with Jen on Traeger campus matters!

125 Laps for Mental Health! 🌟

In Pastoral Care today, Thursday 18 June, students from Miss Bonney’s, Ms Miso’s, and Ms Prasad’s Year 10 Homerooms completed 125 laps of the Marian Centre courts in support of Finn D.’s initiative to run 125 km for Mental Health.

On 10 July, Finn will run from Tweed Heads to Villanova College, Coorparoo — a distance of 125 km, equivalent to more than three marathons — to raise awareness of youth mental health.

Students also spent time unpacking what mental health means to them and why awareness and open discussion are so important. They explored factors that can impact mental wellbeing and brainstormed positive coping strategies.

Most importantly, students reflected on one thing they could do to look after their own mental wellbeing and identified a trusted adult or support person they could turn to if they ever needed help.

For those who chose not to run, they did mindful activities such as colouring in, making friendship bracelets, and playing cards. Mental health is an important conversation at every age, and today served as a reminder that no one has to face challenges alone.

Timor Leste Immersion Update! 🤩 Our students are having a fantastic time, fully embracing the warm hospitality. They are building wonderful connections with the local community while provide assitance with some projects.

Thank you to Flinders University for presenting to our Sadadeen students about their new pathways in the Science and Engineering field! The students got to see and try out a range of different technologies, and well as learn about these different postgraduate pathways. 🌟
