This term is flying by quickly. It is Week 7 already and another busy one for students and teachers.

Congratulations to Tara Finlay who is the Northern Territory Winner in the Early STEM Education Awards 2026. Tara has made an extraordinary contribution by transforming a previously unused, buffel grass-covered area into a thriving bush and Indigenous garden, creating a vibrant environment where young children learn through play, curiosity, and direct engagement with the natural world. Central to Tara’s work is her belief that play drives learning. The space reflects her commitment to creating environments where children feel capable, trusted, and deeply engaged.

Another event-filled week at Larapinta this week. We have the Australian Ballet visiting to work with our Year 3-6 classes and a whole school performance on Friday.

This is week is National Science Week, and our Year 5/6 classes will be leading some activities with classes across the week.

It is also Bullying: No Way! Week, so check in with your child about the conversations classes are having around this topic. Ask them about the word of the week (empathy) and what it means!

A relatively quiet week. Please check out the 'looking ahead' column for some upcoming events!

A cool Week 3 begins tomorrow. Please make sure you child has a school jumper and/or jacket and that their name is clearly visible on the inside for when they (inevitably) become lost!

Don't forget school photos are happening this week from preschool to Year 6. Please contact the office if you have any questions.
