WE CARE FOR EACH OTHER // Sports Day 2026
Yesterday, we held our annual Sports Day at Head Street Oval.
It was a great day of celebrating physical literacy and building relationships in a positive and fun way.
Our whole school theme for 2026 is ‘Belonging’ and there was a real sense of this as students competed in their house groups. Lots of cheering and encouragement that lasted all day!
Our SRC (with the help of Mr Nigel, Chappie Rejieli and our Year 9’s) hosted a BBQ and Paul from Youth for Christ shared the gospel with our students over the lunch break.
Thank you to all our parents, volunteers and staff who came to help ensure our students had a wonderful day!

Welcome to Araluen Christian College!
We are proud to Welcome Mr Tony Amalemba to Araluen Christian College!
Mr Tony is currently teaching our Wedge Tailed Eagles class and will be supporting our teaching staff with providing relief teaching. Read a message from Tony below!
"My name is Tony, and I am delighted to be joining Araluen Christian College as a new teacher. I have a great passion for teaching and working with students, and I feel privileged to become part of a school community that is committed to academic excellence and Christian values.
I bring more than ten years of teaching experience across a variety of school settings and curricula. Throughout my career, I have taught both overseas and here in Australia, in regional and metropolitan schools, most recently in Perth, Western Australia. My rigorous training and experiences have enriched my understanding of education and strengthened my commitment to helping every student reach their full potential.
I look forward to building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, and to contributing to the faith-filled environment that makes this school so special. I am excited for the opportunities ahead and pray for a year of growth, learning, and God's blessings for our entire school community."

Secondary students are learning about a range of topics including
⚙️ 3D Printing
🌍 Bridging Cultures
🎭 Artistic Endeavours
💰 Money Smart
These experiences provide allow students to select projects of interest to them that are backward designed to the Australian Curriculum.
Our primary students have been excelling in their creative talents through their recent success in the Centralian Eisteddfods and recently enjoyed lessons delivered by Toon Schools where they discovered more about cartoon drawing!
Ultimately, excellence at Araluen is about more than outcomes;

Over the past few weeks, Year 10 Students from Araluen Christian College completed the annual NTCC Year 10 Trip!
Students began their adventure in Melbourne with a tour of the city’s markets and laneways, the MCG, ACMI, National Gallery, and more! A highlight of the Melbourne leg was a tour of the historic grounds of the Melbourne University.
From there we travelled by bus through Victoria’s Gold Fields and Sovereign Hill on the way to Canberra. Stopping in Beechworth at the bakery and tour of the town’s historic sites, and Old Priory.
In Canberra, our students had the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage, and democracy.
The Australian Government recognises the importance of all Australians being able to visit the national capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government is contributing funding of $1050.00 per Araluen Christian College student, under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate program, toward those costs. The rebate is paid directly to the school upon completion of the excursion, which included visits to the Australian War Memorial, National Capital Authority, National Electoral Education Centre, Museum of Australian Democracy, Australian Parliament House, the Mint, and Questacon.
Our tour continued in Sydney where students experienced a night on the Harbour, a tour of Sydney’s early history, Taronga Zoo, and got to see the sensational Lion King musical live at the theatre. After two jam-packed weeks, the students were ready to conclude their adventure: one that has given them life-long memories and efforts to be proud of!
Well done, Year 10s.
