⚫️🔴🟡This week at Living Waters we proudly celebrated NAIDOC Week 2026 and this year’s milestone theme, “50 Years of Deadly.”

⚫️🔴🟡It honours five decades of strength, culture, resistance, creativity, and community leadership.

⚫️🟡🔴As a school, we focused on what it means to be an ally: to listen deeply, stand with respect, celebrate culture, and use our voices to support truth‑telling and justice. Students explored how allyship is active, showing up, learning, honouring stories, and walking alongside First Nations peoples with humility and courage.

⚫️🟡🔴 We spent the morning in our multiage house groups learning together to produce books that will be displayed in our library.

🥶 Today our SRC held their term free dress fundraiser.

🛌 Students and staff were invited to come in their pjs and bring either a gold coin or some winter woolies to donate to Lutheran Care, to help those in need in our community.

🎥 On camp The Nest 🪺 wrote scripts and used the film sets at Ooriminna to film their very own movies 🍿

🎬 This week Mr Derrick held a masterclass with them on using iMovie and now the students are busy editing their movies.

🍿 Get your popcorn ready for the viewing party.

⚾️ Last week our own Coach Kevin took a trip with some children to the National little league competition.

🏟️Congratulations to Trent and former student Blake who participated in the competition. The team scored more runs in one game than they did in the whole competition last time.

🏁🏁🏁Huge thanks to Reece Cole X47, S Hansen 586, Micka James 647, Bradley Pollard 239 and the Finke Ambassadors who came to see us at short notice after some last minute cancellations.

🏁🏁🏁Each year we have a special assembly learning about the Finke race, the important safety messages and meet some amazing crew who tell us about the race.

🏏 This week Thomas Pfeiffer represented the Central Region in the Inter-Region Cricket Championships in Darwin.

🏏Joining Tom on the team were former Living Waters students Luke and Himmat, with the team coached by Pastor Ben.

🏏Well done to all involved - we’re proud to see our students continuing to achieve and shine beyond the classroom!

🪺 Thanks to The Nest for sharing the message in worship today about the Triune God.

☕️ Did you know every day before and after worship and assembly that there are eager volunteers waiting to serve you tea or coffee and sweet treat.

🏁 When you are in the mall for the Finke night markets or shopping, checkout our recycled art on the yellow fences.

📣 The council put out a call for recycled creations and our students took up the challenge. There will be 3 labelled panels, see if you can find them.
