🌳☀️ Kindy Park Excursion Adventure! ☀️🌳

Our Kindy children recently enjoyed another exciting excursion to the local park! Walking together as a group, children practised road safety, followed instructions, and proudly wore their high-visibility vests to help keep everyone safe in the community.

Once at the park, the children explored a variety of play equipment, climbed, swung, slid, balanced, and challenged themselves in different ways while building confidence, coordination, and social skills. We also enjoyed a special picnic-style morning tea together, making the most of the beautiful outdoor environment.

After returning to the centre, we reflected on our experience and discussed wellbeing and safety. The children shared their favourite parts of the excursion:

💬 "I like the spider web. I can easily climb."
💬 "I like the swings."
💬 "The slide!"
💬 "I love climbing."

We also talked about how we stay safe during excursions. The children explained that we listen to our educators and wear our high-visibility vests so we can easily be seen and stay together as a group.

These excursions provide wonderful opportunities for children to connect with their community, develop independence, build confidence, and learn important safety skills through real-life experiences.

🌳🐻 We’re Going on a Bear Hunt! 🐻🌳

Today, our kindergarten children had so much fun bringing our We’re Going on a Bear Hunt Story to life.

As we were on our way back, we seen local members of the Chinese Community who shared their culture with the children, they played the traditional instrument, erhu and sang some songs 🎶.

Today was a wonderful opportunity for the children to develop their appreciation of diversity and building connections with the community 🌎.

What amazing learning our kindergarten children had! 🐻🌿🎶

🌿🖤💛❤️ Reflecting on Our NAIDOC Week Celebrations ❤️💛🖤🌿

Although we're a little late in sharing, we'd love to reflect on the wonderful experiences our children, families, and educators enjoyed during NAIDOC Week.

This year, our centre community came together to create a beautiful collaborative artwork inspired by Aboriginal art. Children explored colours, patterns, symbols, and dot painting techniques while learning about the importance of connection to Country, culture, family, and community.

It was wonderful to see families joining in the creative process, contributing their own special touches to our shared masterpiece. Through experiences like these, we encourage children to develop an appreciation and respect for the rich histories, cultures, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We would like to thank all the families and educators who participated and helped make this experience so meaningful for our children.

Together, we learn, celebrate, and grow through connection, respect, and understanding. 🌱

📚✨ BOOK WEEK IS COMING TO GOODSTART ALGESTER! ✨📚
Next week, 24th–28th August, we’ll be celebrating the magic of Book Week at Goodstart Early Learning Algester! 🌈📖

Throughout the week, we encourage our children to read, explore their favourite stories and dress up as their favourite book characters as many times as they wish! Whether they want to be a different character every day or wear their favourite costume all week, we can’t wait to see their imaginations come to life. 🧚‍♀️🦸‍♂️🐛👑

Book Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and storytelling. Books help children develop their language, literacy, imagination, creativity and understanding of the world around them. Most importantly, celebrating books in a fun and exciting way helps foster a lifelong love of reading and learning. 💛

🎉 BOOK WEEK PARADE – FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST 🎉

To finish off our celebrations, we’ll be holding our Book Week Parade from 3:30pm!
Families are warmly invited to come along and watch your little ones strut their stuff in their favourite book character costumes. 📚✨ We absolutely love having our families join in our centre celebrations and would love to see you there!

Just a friendly reminder that our Prep Information Night is happening TONIGHT from 6:00pm–7:00pm at Goodstart Early Learning Algester!

If your little one is heading off to Prep in 2027, we would love for you to join us. 💛
