We would like to thank our families who came to our Kindergarten Information Evening. It was great to see our families engage with our teachers and learning about our program.

It was wonderful to meet our families and sharing what makes our kindergarten community unique.

Every child deserves the chance to feel safe, supported, and confident in their future, but for many children in foster care, that is far from reality.

Frequent moves between homes and schools can disrupt their learning, relationships, and sense of stability. Without the right support, these challenges can have lasting effects on their education, wellbeing, and future opportunities.

That is why we are taking part in National Pyjama Day.

By wearing our PJs and raising funds, we are helping The Pyjama Foundation give children in foster care something truly life changing: a dedicated Pyjama Angel mentor.

Your donation will help recruit, screen, train, and match a “Pyjama Angel” with a child who needs them most. These volunteer mentors do more than read books or help with homework. They build trust, confidence, and a love of learning that can change the course of a child’s life.

Together, we can help children in foster care dream bigger and believe in themselves.

🌟Our Neuro-Affirming Professional Development🌟

Tonight, our team participated in an inclusion-based professional development, which strengthened our knowledge and skills to better support our children here at Algester.

Some of the topics we explored were:
🌟Supporting children’s emotional regulation and wellbeing
🌟Understanding sensory and communication diffences
🌟Exploring inclusive and accessible learning environments
🌟Responding to children’s needs with empathy and confidence
🌟Fostering stronger relationships, belonging and participation

This professional development has equipped our team with valuable tools to add to our toolkit. We are excited to put these strategies in practice, where we can create a more inclusive environment for every child 👶🏻👦🏿👧🏼.

Bringing Generations Together Through Music 🎶💛
Each week, our children enjoy a special visit next door where they join our wonderful seniors for a joyful Mainly Music session.
Through singing, dancing, and shared laughter, beautiful connections are formed across generations. It’s truly heartwarming to see the room light up with smiles as music creates a sense of belonging for everyone involved.
These meaningful experiences support our children in developing empathy, confidence, and social skills, while also nurturing respect and appreciation for older members of our community.
We are incredibly proud of how enthusiastically our children participate—singing with joy, moving to the rhythm, and spreading happiness wherever they go.
Moments like these remind us just how powerful music can be in bringing people together 💫

🌟 June at Our Centre 🌟

As we head into the cooler months, our learning adventures continue! Throughout June, our children will be exploring new experiences through play, creativity, community connections, and hands-on learning opportunities.

This month we will be focusing on developing confidence, resilience, friendships, and a strong sense of belonging. Children will enjoy a variety of engaging experiences both indoors and outdoors, while continuing to build important skills through their interests and curiosity.

We love sharing these special moments with our families and thank you for being part of our wonderful centre community. Keep an eye on Storypark and our social media pages for updates, photos, and celebrations throughout the month.
