National Reconciliation Day is celebrated annually from 27 May to 3 June. This year’s theme, ‘All In’ encourages all Australians to reflect on our shared histories, cultures and achievements, while considering how each of us can contribute to reconciliation in Australia. At Monday’s assembly, our Primary School SRC representatives shared important messages about the significance of National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week. Throughout the week, students across the school are participating in classroom artworks that promote understanding and respect.

Yesterday, K-6 students celebrated our annual Jump Rope for Heart Jump Off Day. Students came together to demonstrate their skipping skills and participate in various skipping activities, all while raising donations and awareness for The Heart Foundation. The day was filled with energy, teamwork, and laughter as everyone enjoyed jumping rope and supporting a great cause. It was inspiring to see so many students engaged and enthusiastic, making the event a memorable and fun occasion for our school community.

Building relationships and connections.

Last Thursday, our school proudly hosted 60 Aboriginal students and their teachers from across the K–12 Strathfield Schools Network as part of the Koori Connections initiative. Koori Connections is a network program designed to bring Aboriginal students together to strengthen connections, celebrate identity, and deepen understanding of country, culture and community. The day provided students with valuable opportunities to connect with peers from across the network while participating in a range of engaging cultural and hands-on learning experiences across both primary and high school settings.

Congratulations to our PSSA knockout Soccer teams who completed their first round with back-to-back wins against Marrickville PS. Our girls team secured a strong 7-0 victory and the boys fought hard to win 5 goals to 3. Congratulations to all involved and Mr Ansell as teams coach. The next match for both teams will be against Petersham Public School Tuesday, May 19th at Arlington Oval, Dulwich Hill.

Congratulations to Kymeesha on her outstanding achievement at the recent CHS Basketball Tournament. She was selected as one of the top ten female basketball players in the Sydney East region, representing a field of 50 schools, and helped the Sydney East team achieve a silver medal against nine other regions. An even more impressive accomplishment is that Kymeesha was the youngest member of the team.

Pictured are our five primary Sydney East PSSA Swimming Championship representatives -Jacob (Year 6), Benjamin (Year 5), Kai (Year 5), Louis (Year 4) and Sawyer (Year 3). These swimmers will be competing at Olympic Park Homebush this coming Monday 9 March. Go team!

We have an update on funds raised for the World's Greatest Shave that took place today. So far, we have managed to raise just over $3,000. What an outstanding result! 🎉 Thank you all for your generous contributions.
