Jeans For Genes Day 🧬👖

Last Thursday, our children and educators joined in for Jeans for Genes Day!

Staff and children wore their favourite jeans and enjoyed a fun group painting activity, creating colourful denim artwork together.

Jeans for Genes helps raise funds for children living with genetic diseases, supporting vital research and helping improve the lives of children and families affected by these conditions.

Thank you to all our wonderful families for getting involved and supporting this important cause! 💙

Pyjama Day 🧸

On Friday 24th July, our children and educators came dressed in their favourite cosy pyjamas to celebrate National Pyjama Day!

We had a wonderful day embracing all things warm and cosy, including snuggling up together to watch Happy Feet, which tied in perfectly with our winter program this month.

National Pyjama Day is about more than just wearing your comfiest PJ’s. It’s important to raise awareness and support for children living in foster care. Every dollar raised helps support The Pyjama Foundations Love of Learning!

Thank you to all of our children, families and educators for joining in and making the day special. We loved seeing everyone’s cosy outfits and sharing such a fun day together! 🩵

Bringing Learning to Life 🌱

This month at Happy Campers Early Learning, our kinders have been exploring our Claws and Paws focus plan, while our babies have been enjoying Nursery Rhymes!

Throughout the month, the children met a variety of animals to build their knowledge, curiosity, and respect for the world around them. Some of these animal experiences were planned to link directly to our Claws and Paws focus, while others connected to familiar nursery rhymes such as Old MacDonald Had a Farm, Hey Di**le Di**le, and B-I-N-G-O

Our Wonderful Animal Encounters:
🐱Grim
🐶Sayla and Stori
🐴Snowy
🦎Bluey and Bingo
🐓Salt&Pepper and Ginge

These experiences gave the children opportunities to observe, interact, and learn about each animal’s life, including how they move, what they eat, and how they are cared for. Hands-on experiences help bring learning to life through real-world connections

It has been a wonderful month of discovery, connection, and meaningful learning experiences shared across our service!

Music Wednesdays 🥁🎸

Every Wednesday, our kinder children enjoy visiting the Alexandra Library for a fun and engaging music session with Phil!

Today, the children explored keeping a steady rhythm while playing a variety of instruments, including the ukulele, hand drums, and shakers.
Through music experiences like these, children develop listening skills, coordination, confidence, creativity, and an understanding of rhythm and beat

The children loved having the opportunity to make music together, experiment with different sounds, and express themselves through song and movement

We are so grateful to Phil and the Alexandra Library for providing such a wonderful community experience for our children each week!

Nature Play in Every Season 🌿🪵

The colder weather hasn’t stopped the fun!

Children have been enjoying splashing in muddy puddles, wearing their gum boots, riding bikes through the mud, and exploring the outdoors

Mud and water play provide valuable opportunities for sensory learning, creativity, physical development, and connecting with nature

As the weather becomes colder and wetter, we kindly remind families to pack appropriate winter clothing each day, including:
• Warm jackets
• Beanies
• Gum boots
• Wet weather clothing or overalls
• Spare warm clothes where possible

Please ensure all clothing and belongings are clearly labelled with your child’s name to help us keep track of items and return them if misplaced

We believe every season offers unique opportunities for learning, discovery, and connection with nature, and we look forward to embracing all that winter has to offer! 🌨️

Today’s Ambulance Visit 🚑

Today we had our final visit for this month’s focus plan on Emergency and Rescue Services!

Claire visited the children and spoke about her important role in helping people in the community. She showed the children some of the special medical equipment she uses and introduced them to the emergency services van. The children were very engaged, asked lots of questions, and enjoyed learning about how emergency workers help keep us safe.

We would like to thank Claire for taking the time to visit us and for the amazing work paramedics and emergency services workers do to support and care for our community 💙

🚨 Alexandra CFA Visit 🚨

Today we had a special visit from the Alexandra CFA

The children enjoyed learning about how firefighters help keep our community safe. They explored the fire truck, looked at the firefighters’ equipment, answered and asked lots of thoughtful questions!

Some of the children’s responses:

What is there helmet for ?
“For smoke getting in their nose or in their mouth”

What do fire trucks rescue?
“People”

What’s the hose for?
“To put out the fire”

What job does the fire truck have?
“To spray out fires when fire on buildings”

We are very thankful for the support and hard work our local firefighters provide for our community, especially during the fires earlier this year.

Thank you to the Alexandra CFA for taking the time to visit us and share such a fun and educational experience with the children ❤️
