Our children and educators loved getting into the spirit and wearing their flanno's throughout the week. It was a beautiful opportunity to talk about where our food comes from, farming, animals and the important role farmers play in our everyday lives.🐔🐷🐮🤠👢

Although NAIDOC Week has come to an end, we’d love to share some special moments from the week with our Dindi Daycare community.

Our children spent the week learning about and celebrating the rich histories, cultures and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples through stories, art, music, yarning, and hands-on experiences. These meaningful activities encouraged curiosity, respect and an appreciation for the world’s oldest continuing cultures.

At Dindi Daycare, we believe that learning about First Nations cultures is something that should be embedded throughout the year, not just during NAIDOC Week. We are proud to continue building respectful relationships, embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our program, and fostering a strong sense of belonging, respect and inclusion for every child.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we live, learn and play, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.

National Reconciliation Week

This week, we proudly joined Australians across the country in recognising National Reconciliation Week, a time to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to reflect on how we can contribute to reconciliation in Australia.

Throughout the week, our children engaged in meaningful experiences that celebrated and explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. Through stories, art, music, discussions, and connections to Country, we encouraged curiosity, respect, and appreciation for the world's oldest continuing cultures.

At Dindi Daycare, we are committed to creating an inclusive environment where every child develops a sense of belonging, respect, and understanding of the diverse cultures that make up our community.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the land on which we learn and play, and we pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging.

Together, we can continue to learn, listen, and walk forward on the path of reconciliation.

Today we had a very exciting ambulance incursion! 🚑
The children loved learning all about ambulances, the important role paramedics play in our community, and how they help keep people safe. We explored the ambulance equipment, asked lots of curious questions, and even had the chance to hop inside the ambulance!

A huge thank you to our amazing paramedic Claire for taking the time to visit us, share your knowledge, and create such a fun and meaningful experience for the children. We appreciate everything you and your colleagues do for our community every single day 💙

This week we’ve been busy exploring lots of sensory play and learning about movement and transport! 🚜

The children have loved getting hands on with different textures, materials, and imaginative play experiences. From scooping, pouring, and messy sensory fun to building roads, moving vehicles, and creating their own little transport adventures, there have been so many opportunities for learning through play.

These experiences help support communication, creativity, problem-solving, fine motor skills, and social connections all while having so much fun! We love watching the children explore, discover, and engage with the world around them in their own unique ways.
