Things are getting serious in the robotics lab! 👀

Our teams are busy coding, building, testing, problem-solving (and occasionally wondering why the robot definitely did not do what they told it to do 🤔😂) as they prepare to represent Alexandra Hills State Primary School at the upcoming INNOVATE competition at Alexandra Hills State High School.

At Alex Hills, we’re proudly not a 1:1 device or BYOD school. Instead, we want technology to be used purposefully – when it adds to the learning, opens up new possibilities and gives our students opportunities to create, design, collaborate and solve real problems.

And when it comes to coding and robotics… we’re all in. 🤖⚙️

Our students aren’t just consuming technology. They’re learning how to make it work.

The rainbow is out, the welcome flags are up, and we’re ready to open our gates to our 2027 Pre-Prep families for their very first orientation session at 9:00am today.

🧪🚀 SCIENCE FAIR: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! 🔬💥

Things got a little messy, creative and wonderfully curious at Alexandra Hills State Primary School this afternoon!

Our young scientists launched rocket cars 🚀, rocked boats ⛵, tested paper planes ✈️, engineered parachutes 🪂 and experimented their way through slime, bouncy balls, oobleck and the classic “how are those pencils not making the water leak?!” experiment. 💧✏️

There were predictions. There were discoveries. There were questionable quantities of slime. 😂

A brilliant afternoon of wondering, testing, making, problem-solving and learning through doing — exactly what Science Week should be about.
