This morning some of our Year 6 students worked with our parish community to prepare hampers for those in need. Thanks to all the students who volunteered (there were more volunteers than spaces) and to our helpers this morning. You were all willing to live out our school values and make a positive difference to the lives of others!

🍃🌱Each Wednesday lunchtime, the EcoMarines tend the St Anthony’s vegetable gardens. At the moment we are harvesting beans, eggplants and tomatoes. Our pumpkins are looking amazing but still have some growing to do.

Today we were excited to plant three new passionfruit vines. These were kindly given to us by Mr Paul from the Kindy Fete Plant Stall.

A big thank you also to Mr Peach for digging the holes so we could plant them today. Our keen gardening students who turn up every Wednesday are enjoying seeing their hard work and patience come to fruition in the garden.

Before the first day, please do a quick school-ready check:
✅ Full school uniform ready to go
✅ Black school shoes
✅ Hair neat and tidy, with long hair ready to be tied back in a school-coloured hair tie

🌏 Year 6 students have been exploring countries across Asia and the Pacific region in HaSS. Working in small groups, they researched and created presentations to share their learning about different cultures, environments and communities. Our Year 3 students enjoyed an exciting excursion to Thunderbird Park at Mount Tamborine this week, where they explored their Science learning about rocks, minerals and Earth’s natural resources.

They discovered how thunder eggs were formed through ancient volcanic activity and learnt about the different minerals and crystals that can be found inside them, including quartz, jasper, amethyst and carnelian. The Year 3s had the opportunity to fossick for their very own thunder eggs, seeing firsthand how every rock is unique.

It was also a wonderful day out in nature, enjoying the beautiful bush scenery and birdlife.

It was a fantastic hands-on experience that brought our classroom learning to life!

We are so proud of all of our students who represented St Anthony's with enthusiasm and teamwork. Every team gave their best all throughout the day!

♻️ Year 1 Reverse Garbage Incursion!

Year 1 had a fantastic time getting creative with our Reverse Garbage incursion! The students explored sustainability, the 3Rs — reduce, reuse and recycle — and discovered how salvaged materials can be transformed into something new. 🌏✨

It was a fun, hands-on learning experience that encouraged creativity, problem-solving and thinking about how we can give materials a second life. 💚♻️

🌟 FISAF NATIONALS – SPORT AEROBICS 🌟

Last week, our talented Sport Aerobics students headed off to the FISAF National Championships. Many of these girls competed representing their club, before taking to the floor again over the weekend to proudly represent St Anthony’s.

With more than 90 schools competing at Nationals, our three St Anthony’s teams did an absolutely amazing job! 💙

Turtles – Year 1–2 Phase 2
🥇 1st Place – National Champions!
Jellyfish – Year 3–4 Phase 2
🥉 3rd Place
Starfish – Prep
🏅 5th Place at their very first National competition!

A massive congratulations to all of our girls. We are incredibly proud of the hard work, commitment and training you have put into Sport Aerobics throughout the year. Just as special as your results are the wonderful friendships you have formed and the encouragement and support you continually show one another. It is truly inspiring to watch.

Mrs Tompkins was incredibly honoured to be nominated by QSA Sport Aerobics for School Team Primary Coach of the Year, and was very grateful to FISAF for selecting her as this year’s recipient. 🏆 Well done!!
