Studying ECE and feeling like you’re figuring it all out on your own? 💛

You’re not meant to do it alone.

Assignments. Placements. RPL. Balancing work, study and family. Trying to understand all the ECE terminology… and then actually make sense of it in a real classroom.

Let’s talk about it.

Smart Tots Early Education Alexandra Hills is bringing ECE students and future educators together for a relaxed morning to connect, ask questions, share experiences and support one another.

Whether you’re studying your Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor, stuck somewhere along the way, returning to study, or simply wondering “Is early childhood really for me?”
you’re welcome.

Studying early childhood education, or thinking about it? Come and sit with people who get it.💛

Smart Tots Early Education Alexandra Hills, is hosting an ECE Study Group Meet Up on Saturday 12 September 2026, 9am to 12pm. It's a relaxed, no-pressure morning for anyone working through a Certificate III, Diploma or Bachelor in early childhood education and care, anyone stalled mid-qualification, and anyone still deciding whether this is the industry for them.

We know studying while working, parenting or juggling both can feel isolating. Assessments pile up. Terminology gets confusing. The gap between the theory and what actually happens on the floor can be hard to bridge on your own. This is the space to talk it through.

Bring your questions about assessments, placements, RPL, choosing a provider, or what a career in ECEC actually looks like day-to-day.
Bring what you're struggling with, or bring nothing at all and just listen.

Connect, support and network.

Let's meet up. How can we support you?

💙 PROUDLY INDEPENDENT. PROUDLY LOCAL. 💙

At Smart Tots Alexandra Hills, we’re proudly independent and proudly part of this community, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Being locally owned means our decisions are made close to home, by people who know the families we serve. It means we can shape our days around our children, our educators and our neighbourhood.

Every independent service has a story, and ours has been written by the children who’ve grown up here, the families who’ve trusted us and the educators who show up every day with heart.

As a proud member of Australian Childcare Alliance Queensland, we’re standing alongside independent services across the Redlands and the country. 🌱

Celebrating the Leaders Behind the Learning
Behind every strong educational program is a team of passionate people who inspire, challenge, mentor and support our educators to continually grow.

We are incredibly proud to recognise the amazing work of our Start Smart Pedagogy Mentor, Sharna, alongside our dedicated team of Educational Leaders from across our nine Start Smart services.

Their role extends far beyond programming and documentation. They inspire reflective practice, mentor and empower educators, strengthen curriculum decision-making, encourage creativity and innovation, and ensure that the voices, interests and needs of our children remain at the heart of everything we do.

Together, they create opportunities for educators to share knowledge, challenge their thinking, celebrate successes and continue developing their professional practice. Their leadership helps build consistency across our services while still allowing each centre, team and community to shine in its own unique way.

And of course, we couldn't celebrate Educational Leaders without acknowledging one of their greatest talents…

Turning “the children enjoyed it” into a three-paragraph critical reflection linked to the EYLF, child voice, intentional teaching, future planning and at least four learning outcomes! 😂

All jokes aside, Educational Leadership is an incredibly important role. It takes passion, knowledge, patience and a genuine commitment to supporting others.

A huge thank you to Sharna and our nine amazing Educational Leaders for the energy, knowledge and dedication you bring to Start Smart. The work you do behind the scenes has a ripple effect — supporting our educators, strengthening our programs and, most importantly, creating richer learning opportunities for our children.
