Motivated by the prize/goal (ext) OR self (int)...

Which is best to Achieve More..?

I would say BOTH would be ideal as being motivated only by the prize often makes you feel empty on the inside on reaching the goal.

Internal motivation is a rare attribute/skill these days - noticeble in athletes and successful individuals as you DONT need a prize/medal to aim for, they are self motivated and probably have internal goals set for themselves to achieve...

So ideally Self Motivation Rules (Internal) and will SMASH they're goals (external) once set...

QUESTION:
If you are mostly externally motivated can you CHANGE your motivation style..?

ANSWER:
YES... any Coach or NLP Practitioner who knows what they are doing can assist with making this happen...

SUMMARY:
Externally motivated individuals tend to eventually give up or loose interest after so long (weeks, months, years) also something to note is....

Motivation is NOT only about achieving - we can also be motivated to NOT Achieve, Run Away, Distract with drugs, etc, Bad Behaviour, Operate in Fear...
