Yesterday Sam had an encounter with this ridiculously cute juvenile Ringtail Possum. It fell out of a tree as we were looking at some reveg, so I called a wildlife carer who recommended wrapping it up and taking it to a vet. Apparently they bring it back at night to hopefully reunite it with the parents, who would be sleeping all day.

It didn't seem to mind me grabbing it, and I had it on my chest to keep warm until Amy from Green Adelaide brought a car around and dropped it off to the vet.

The vet gave it fluids and kept it warm, weighed it at 101gm, and then contacted the legend Kerrie from Kerrie Kelly who took it back to the tree and reunited it with the Mum that night. There's a gorgeous video of the moment they get back together - posted 27 August and labelled Gilberton. Thank you wildlife carers!
