✨ Sensory Learning in Marnkutyi

Sensory learning has been a big part of learning across Marnkutyi, with our learners exploring concepts through hands-on, engaging experiences across a range of learning areas.

From science experiments and sensory tables to hands-on tools and activities, learners have had opportunities to explore, investigate and make connections in ways that are meaningful to them.

Sensory learning can support curiosity, communication, engagement, fine and gross motor development, regulation and shared interaction, while making learning accessible, playful and fun. 🌈👐

💃✨ A night of story dance is coming to Payinthi!

We're excited to bring together our Dance Challenge and Wakakirri crews for a special evening of performances at Aldinga Payinthi College!

Our Dance Challenge crew will perform their award-winning routine, which took home the People's Choice Award at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, along with three Honourable Mentions for Audio Visual Design, Courageous Performance and Delivering a Powerful Message.

Our Years 3–6 Wakakirri team will also take to the stage with their story dance, Tides of Change, which was recognised by Wakakirri judges for its outstanding choreography, visuals and costumes.

📚✨ Book Week is off to a magical start!

We've kicked off Book Week with a bang as we bring this year's theme, Symphony of Stories, to life across Payinthi! 🎶📖

There's been so much happening already, including:

🎶 Our Year 7/8 learners have created musical book readings and performed them for our primary learners
🥚 Clayton shared a special reading of The Emperor's Egg in Kuma, which might just explain the mysterious egg that has appeared in the Hub! 👀
🚪 Our hallways are full of magic with our incredible Decorate a Door creations
🌿 Learners have been taking on challenges in our Jumanji Room
💻 Learners across the college have joined virtual author talks
📚 We welcomed a special visit from Aldinga Library

And there's still plenty more to come!

🔬✨ That's a wrap on Science Week!

We've loved seeing curiosity, creativity and imagination come to life across the college as we explored this year's theme, "Seeds of Science: Nurturing knowledge for all."

Our learners explored our science labs, asked questions, got curious and had the chance to investigate their ideas through fun, hands-on science experiments.

A big thank you to everyone who helped make Science Week such a fun week of discovery! 🧪🌱

📚✨ Book Week is NEXT WEEK! ✨📚

Book Week runs from Monday 24 to Friday 28 August, and we have lots of exciting activities planned across the college!

Throughout the week, learners will have plenty of opportunities to get involved, including virtual author talks, decorating their classroom doors, costume design, reading picnics and lots more!

Learning through play at Payinthi Preschool ✨🎨

Through chalk, water and a little bit of imagination, our preschool children explored early literacy concepts in playful and meaningful ways.

As colours blended and animal prints emerged, children experimented with drawing symbols, shared stories and built communication skills with their peers. This hands-on learning experience encouraged creativity, curiosity and self-expression while laying important foundations for literacy development.

Our incredible School Services Officers are an essential part of our Payinthi community, supporting every area of our college and making a meaningful difference to the lives of our learners. From specialised and personalised learning, Preschool and administration to wellbeing, Aboriginal Education and so much more, their impact can be seen in every corner of our college.

Every day, they build meaningful relationships, encourage and listen, celebrate the little wins, provide a helping hand and create opportunities that help our learners feel supported, confident, connected and capable.

Our college is a stronger, more inclusive and more connected place because of the incredible people who make up our SSO team.
