A little update on the try out drama classes…
First of all, thanks for the interest - it’s really exciting. At this rate we may need to run two try out classes!
Second… I know a number of parents have contacted me through e-mail… and have probably thought the worst of me for my lack of response - trusty yahoo decided to send everything to junk. I’ve gone through it with a fine tooth comb but if you’ve not heard from me please DM me or text 0438902463. I think that text is prob the way forward and I’d ask everyone to disregard my email contact.
Thirdly, I’ve been asked to give a general outline of a typical class…! Great idea - I’ll put a post together in the next few weeks answering this question.

Drama at Nairne Primary School starting Term 1 2024

Starting Week 1 of Term 1 2024, every Thursday afternoon at 3:15pm for 45 minutes, Nairne Primary will be hosting drama classes with Steve Gallagher, of Hills School of Theatre Arts , in the Music Room.

After an acting career in TV and musical theatre, Steve became a high school drama and music teacher in the UK. In 2013 he moved to SA and began work as a Primary Drama Teacher. He currently delivers the Performing Arts Curriculum at Aldgate Primary School.

Steve’s known for making his learning fun and building learning opportunities to reflect his students interests. There are always plenty of drama games as well as opportunities to explore a wide variety of drama forms and styles, from mask, mime, slapstick, scripted work, character development, puppetry, shadow theatre, devised drama and monologue to name but a few.

At this time, Steve is exclusively welcoming enrolments from students in years 3-6 from Nairne primary for term 1 2024 on a “first in best dressed”basis. The maximum students per class will not exceed 20. Should there be a need, a second class starting at 4:00pm on the same day will be arranged. The cost is $20.00 per class, payable termly.

Quick update: following a change of start time, I have a few places left for the 4:00pm class starting this Monday at Aldgate Primary School.

Update for students that attend Aldgate PS - I’m more than happy to supervise students between end of school and start of drama - if that’s helpful 😊
