๐๐ป Book Week Adventures โ Weโre Going on a Bear Hunt! ๐ป๐
To celebrate Book Week, our Junior Toddler children brought the much-loved story Weโre Going on a Bear Hunt to life!
After reading the story together, the children set off on their very own sensory bear hunt, exploring different textures inspired by the story. They walked across a grass mat, splashed through water, squished through mud, made their way through a forest of paddle pop sticks, and finally stepped into some soft, fluffy snow made from shaving foam. ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ค๐ณโ๏ธ
This hands-on experience was a wonderful way to extend the story beyond the book, encouraging the children to explore with their senses, develop their gross motor skills and make connections between the story and their play.

๐จ Our Creative Toddlers! โ๏ธ
The Toddler children have been getting creative this week, using textas and pencils to draw, scribble and create their own beautiful pictures. ๐๏ธ๐
As the children explored different colours and made their own marks on the paper, they were able to express their creativity and ideas in their own unique ways.
Drawing experiences are also a wonderful opportunity to strengthen fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and early pencil control, building important foundations for future writing.
We love seeing the wonderful creations our little artists come up with! ๐โจ

๐๏ธ Busy Little Builders! ๐งฑ
Our Toddler children have been loving all things construction! ๐ทโโ๏ธ๐ทโโ๏ธ
Inside, the children have been busy using foam blocks to build tall towers, carefully stacking and balancing the blocks as they explored size, shape and structure. Outside, the construction continued in the sandpit, where the children use construction vehicles and shovels to dig, scoop, move and transport the sand. ๐๐๏ธ
These experiences build on the childrenโs current interests while supporting problem-solving, creativity, coordination, fine and gross motor skills, and cooperative play.
We love watching our little builders bring their ideas to life! ๐๐จ

โจ Junior Toddlersโ Potion Making! โจ
Our Junior Toddlers had a magical time creating their very own potions! Using bicarb soda, clear and coloured vinegar, and glitter, the children experimented with mixing and stirring their ingredients using spoons and wooden stirrers.
There was lots of excitement as they watched their potions fizz, bubble and change! ๐๐ซง This hands-on science experience encouraged the children to explore cause and effect, colour, texture and chemical reactions, while also developing their fine motor skills as they poured, scooped, mixed and stirred.
A wonderfully messy and magical way to explore early science concepts through play! โจ๐ฌ

๐โจApple & Cinnamon Crumble Cups!โจ๐
Our Junior Toddlers enjoyed getting hands-on in the kitchen as they made their very own Apple and Cinnamon Crumble Cups!

To celebrate Science Week, Miss Queenie prepared sensory bottles with a small amount of water inside and a spot of paint on the lid. The children were encouraged to explore the bottles in their own wayโshaking, holding, watching and rolling them across the floor, and observe the colour change and movement of the water.
The bottles were moved up and down while singing, โShake, shake the bottle!โ
The babies were curious to see what happened when they moved the bottles, and it was lovely to watch them using their little hands to grasp, shake and follow the bottles with their eyes.
